It was an ordinary September 1st in the Potter mansion but with the addition of Sirius,
"JAMES HAVE YOU PACKED YOUR BROOM?" Euphemia Potter yelled from the bottom of the stairs
"YES MUM." James shouted in reply
James entered the bathroom and started to try and fix his messy hair, honestly it was like a birds nest, James scoffed and decided it was a hopeless case.
After about 10 minutes, James and Sirius appeared and heaved their substantial sized trunks down the stairs
"Oh Sirius dear, come take a photo with James!" Effie exclaimed feverishly
"aww mum please don't its embarrassing," groaned James
"What picture?" Sirius replied dumbfounded
"Don't listen to her, its a stupid family tradition where she and dad takes a picture of me before school." James stated embarrassingly
"Oh if its a family tradition i can step out of the way," Sirius said abruptly
"No no, your part of our family now Sirius," Effie commented sincerely
In the end much to James' displeasure they did take a photo
20 minutes later Sirius and James eventually arrived on the train
"Wheres Wormy and Moony?" questioned James
"Wormys probably late and I think our little Moony is in the slug club" Sirius replied smugly
"Our little Moonywinkles has grown up so fast," snickered James
Sirius cackled loudly causing seven heads to turn around and stare at him, James snorted once they had turned back causing Sirius to lightly punch him in the shoulder
They had reached the end of the train and approached the only empty compartment left, James slid open the door to find a boy only about a year younger then him with dark curls and pale skin, Regulus black James thought bitterly, he had heard stories about regulus from Sirius none of them were good, except when they were in first year and Sirius had been excited for Regulus to meet us, he stopped talking about him after regulus was sorted into Slytherin
The mysterious boy left and James and Sirius sat down deciding it was best to not dwell on the matter
"Heys guys!" Exclaimed a small voice cheerfully knocking both boys out of their stupor
"Wormy!" James cried gleefully
"Damn Pete you scared me," joked Sirius as he pretended to be shocked causing both boys to howl with laughter,
Peter sat down next to James and used his wand to lift his trunk up onto the compartments above
"Wheres moons?" Peter queried
"Ickle Moony thinks its fine to leave his friends to become a member of the slug club," James said and mock disgust when he said slug club
Sirius snorted into his hand
"So what pranks are we gonna do this year?"
The boys spent the next hours plotting and scheming pranks to set on the slytherins each one worser then the last
"We should get changed soon." Peter suggested
"Alright i'll go first." Replied James, usually they would take turns in changing so nobody took their space.
He left the compartment and headed towards to bathrooms, he started to get lost in his thoughts and then accidentally into ran someone, "hey im sorry!" He said immediately as he looked up he saw the same boy in the carriage staring blankly at him, he just glared and walked off like he did last time, 'strange,' a very confused James thought, as he stood there for a few seconds dumbfounded, he quickly snapped out of his daze and trudged slowly to the bathroom...
Finally they arrived at hogwarts
The dishes and drinks appeared on the golden platters after dumbledore finished his speech which was something about staying strong and resist voldemort and stuff he wasn't really paying attention to Dumbledore that much.
Moony walked towards them "moony where ever did you go you i had to be stuck with," he pointed where peter and Sirius were sitting, "them!" He feigned crying whilst Remus rolled his eyes and later engaged in a conversation about quidditch teams with Marlene.
After everyone had been fed and watered they went up to their dorms. The marauders had spent their night commenting rude things about Snivellous
"Have you seen his hair it looks like its never been washed!" Exclaimed peter genuinely
"That greasy asshole," remarked Sirius nastily
"I don't get how lily even liked him," mumbled James angrily
"Hes such an atrocious and appalling person," observed Remus
"Remus don't use your big words they're scary." Whined James causing all four boys to roar with laughter
