"You should have seen him, as soon as his head hit the pillow he was out." Eddie chuckled taking a seat next to Shannon who had been sitting on the living room couch since he went to put Chris to bed.

Eddie turned to look at her when he didn't get a reply or a comment. She looked lost in thought but finally feeling his eyes on her she spoke. "So that was the famous Marina?" Her face gave nothing away but the mocking tone in her voice said it all.

"Famous?" he questioned, he had a feeling he knew where this conversation was going.

"Well, it seems like it, with the way she is constantly talked about in this house." She muttered finally turning to look at her husband. "It's always Nina this and Nina that." She mimicked. It was clear that she was trying to remain calm.

Eddie wanted to argue back and tell her it wasn't true. But that would just be a blatant lie. Christopher had taken a liking to Marina just like he had done with Buck. Their bond had only strengthened after the 'Bring Christopher to make Marina feel better' mission Buck and he had put together.

Since then Marina had been a topic of conversation his son loved to constantly bring up. He would always talk about something new she had taught him or something he had taught her. He would repeat funny stories that she would share with him. Sometimes, like today at dinner, he would laugh as he brought up a past game that Marina lost. Eddie joins him as he tells him that he knew for a fact that Marina was not letting him win, she was just genuinely bad at games. He then proceeded to tell his own story on how she was banned from placing any bets at the fire station especially when they were playing games. The firefighters realized how bad she was and eventually started feeling bad about taking her money since they knew she wasn't going to win.

Now that he thought about it, he realized that they tend to talk a lot about Marina. But Shannon had only been back in their lives for about three weeks now and it wasn't like his friend was brought up every single time or as if she was the only one they would talk about.

"Come on it's not even like that we talk about Buck just as much as we talk about her. We're just really close to them. They are like family to us." He sighed closing his eyes and leaning his head back on the couch. Eddie had a long shift and didn't want to argue with his wife over something insignificant like this. But he knew Shannon and she wouldn't drop the subject so easily. He also knew that there was still something more that she wanted to say.

Shannon scoffed, crossing her arms. "But Buck and Marina are different Eddie."

She said it so matter-factly as if it was so obvious. But it wasn't at least not to Eddie. Confused, he turns to look at his wife who is already looking at him. "Why? Because Marina is a girl?" He raised a brow.

Shannon rolled her eyes. "Because Marina is a woman. A very attractive woman who is a firefighter." She said as if that answered everything. Her gaze then hardens "She also happens to get along very well with our son. Maybe even better than me. And she was there for you and Chris when I wasn't."
