Christmas arrived and everything for the trip was ready.
It already was the 19th and it was 5:30 p.m.. My suitcase for Christmas was ready. I Shrinked it and put it in my pocket before Apparating to King's Cross station. There, I went on Platform 9 3/4 and took out a book.
Around 6 p.m., the Hogwarts Express arrived. I put my book back inside my cloak as I waited for the McGonagalls and my siblings to get out.
Minerva and Ariana were the first ones to get out, talking animatedly. They walked towards me without even noticing it. Well— maybe Minerva could. They stopped in front of me and Minerva looked up at me with a smile.
"Hi," she said.
"Hey," I said.
"How did you—?" asked Ari.
"I don't know. I just knew where he was."
Malcolm, Robert and Aberforth got out. They looked around and eventually spotted us. They walked towards us, greeted me, and then, together, we walked out of the platform.
Minerva took us outside the station, to a car which was parked in the parking lot. A man, who must be in his mid-forties, stood next to it. Minerva gave him a hug, and so did her brothers.
"Dad, that's Albus, my boyfriend, and his brother and sister, Aberforth and Ariana," she said.
"Nice to meet you, Sir," I said.
"Same thing there, same thing there, boy. Oh, and call me Robert."
"Do you need help with something to grow the inside of the car, dad?" Minerva asked. I saw the man flinch, and Minerva saw it too.
"No, it's okay. Your mother did it already. Please get in. Albus, boy, you can sit on the passenger seat with Minerva."
"Okay."
She opened the door, slid inside, and I slid next to her, closing the door behind me. The four others got inside too and Robert Sr. started the car.
"You guys can sleep," he said. "We have a 12 hours drive."
"Okay," I said, lying my head on Minerva's shoulder.
"Minerva, you'll take over in the morning. We'll stop somewhere to eat something and then tomorrow morning, around 6, you'll take over and I'll take your place, okay?"
"Yes, dad."
"Great."
With that, I fell asleep.
Two hours later, Minerva woke me up. "Albus. Come on. We have to eat something."
I got out of the car, Minerva behind me. Robert Sr. woke up the kids and we went inside a Muggle groceries store. There, we bought some sandwiches and bottles of water. Then, we all went to the bathroom before getting back in the car.
I fell back asleep on Minerva's shoulder, her own head resting on mine.
At some point, light woke me up. I opened my eyes and felt a hand in my hair. Then, emerald green eyes looked right into mine.
"Hey," she said.
"Morning," I said.
"Minerva, I'm tired. Can you please take it from now?" said Robert Sr..
"Yes, dad."
He stopped on the side of the road and I got out to let Minerva out and then she took over the wheel. I sat between her and her father.
"What do you reckon your mother's been doing?" he asked his daughter.
"Dunno. Been sleeping, maybe? Made breakfast? As usual?"
