Chapter 10

After Natalie, Rachel and I had spent the afternoon and the whole morning the next day discussing every possible aspect of each of my brothers, talking about girly things and shopping, they took me home and both pretty much ran into the arms of my brothers. Both of them immediately wrapped their arms around the girls as their reactions and dragged/ carried them upstairs into their rooms. The looks on their faces through all of this were unforgettable. Love was plastered over all four of them, the girls unable to tear themselves away from my brothers. It was a sight I would never forget. How they had them so deeply in love was a question that would haunt me forever.

Alone now, I decided to retreat to my own room and take some time to relax. All this information came onto me so suddenly, and I still haven’t had enough time to digest it. The fact that there were actually werewolves was enough to make a person go crazy, but finding out you and your whole family were mythical creatures was another thing. The deeper I got into the whole world the more I realized how much my family had kept from me.

I had to deal with all of this next to a freaky homeroom teacher and my friends ditching me. It was something I didn’t wish for anyone, not even the people I hate. To see someone’s world fall apart this way was a nightmare that would never go away.

To tell you the truth I actually liked the werewolf part. I mean how many people do you know who can change into super awesome wolves? None! Exactly! This was something that was worth it, the other parts, not so much…

Just when I had gotten comfortable in my bed and fell deep into thought, my phone rang signaling a new text message. Instead of reading it though I just called the person who had wrote it, wanting to find out what was up personally. I knew that if someone sent me a text, things were bad. None of my friends ever wrote one unless they were too scared to say what they wanted out loud.

On the second ring the writer of the message picked up. From the gruff voice I heard on the other end of the line I tensed when I realized it was Ryan. He was breathing hard and the only thing he muttered was: “We need to meet up. Be at the park, usual bench in five.” I never got a chance to react though. He hung up immediately, leaving me rushing to arrive on time. If I had known it was this important I would have already been ready to leave. Now I had five minutes to get dressed and go to the park. Oh please don’t let it be this once that Ryan isn’t late!

Using my werewolf speed I changed into a jean skirt, a pink top and some flats within seconds and grabbed my phone on my way out the door. I didn’t need anything else. The more stuff I take, the more I have to carry and I hated carrying stuff.

As I made my way to the park I thought about using my werewolf speed to make it there sooner, but decided against it since there were people around who could find it suspicious. What was the point of having these awesome powers though if you couldn’t even use them? Were they just to make your social life miserable?

When I finally arrived at the bench where we usually leave it was 5 minutes later than Ryan had told me to meet him. He was sitting on the bench furious. His face was burning red, but his eyes showed sadness and confusion next to the anger. I couldn’t decide what could be going on.

“Hey.” I called out as I arrived. “Sorry I’m a little late, I had to get dressed.”

“It’s no big deal. Don’t you always have to wait on me?” Ryan asked embracing me. His expression wasn’t as pained anymore. I could feel him relax under my touch.

“Yeah, but I can survive.” I laughed, turning around to peck him on the lips.

“I’m glad. We wouldn’t want to see you dead now would we?” He joked, but I could still see the worry hidden behind it.
