The two weeks after Cyndaquil warmed up to Lavra really flew by. Lavra unrelentingly nursed Cyndaquil back to health, so much so she neglected sleep. Cyndaquil even slept in her bed the past few nights. Luckily it was move-proof.
Lavra decided that, after school that day, she would ask Cyndaquil if it liked the nickname she thought of. She was excited.
But first she had to get to school for it to be after school. Lavra dashed to the school. Luckily, she was in walking distance of the school, which was good exercise every day. It didn't matter, though. Because when she opened the door...
"Aw, man! You beat me again!" Lavra yelled.
Terri was, of course, in her seat already. Man, the good old days when she could think about her life were long gone. Not that Lavra cared. They were usually bad thoughts, anyway.
"Sorry, sorry. Mom always encourages me to wake up super early." Terri put her hands up and waved them like she was caught by police.
Ven Ice walked in as Lavra flopped in her seat. Just her luck, for him to be third.
He looked at Lavra and obviously noticed she was sleep deprived.
"You look horrible. What, have you been doing extra research or something, you hoarder?"
"You're walking a thin line, you icy bastard!" Lavra shouted.
She didn't want to escalate the conversation, so she did more square breathing. She also thought of her new friend, Cyndaquil, so breathing actually worked.
Everyone filed into the classroom as Ven sat down. Mr. Tamaka came in, stood at the front of the classroom, and wrote "Camping Trip on the whiteboard.
"Well, everyone, tomorrow is the big day! I hope you all have been packing properly for this trip and getting everything essential ready! Yes, yes! Everyone should be here a bit earlier than usual, say 7 o'clock, in order to get on the buses. We will do a head count before we leave to make sure everyone is on the bus."
Lavra started getting excited, but quickly started to get sleepy. Everyone started groaning, and she fell asleep.
Lavra woke up around 5th period and stayed awake until the end of school. After school had ended, Lavra approached Terri to find out her plans for the day.
"So, what are you going to do now?" Lavra asked.
"Oh, I'm going shopping for some extra supplies for the trip." Terri replied.
"By yourself?"
"Yeah, I've done it before. When Mom gets busy with work, it's kind of up to me." Terri was completely fine with saying that.
"Ok, I'll come with you, then." Lavra stated.
"Huh?" Obviously, Terri wasn't planning for Lavra to come.
"I said I'll come with you. It would be safer that way. You know, the buddy system? I also have to pick some things up at the store." Lavra explained.
Maybe she went too far because Terri stammered, "I-uh, wha? Okay, but I have to get some things from my house first."
Lavra kept up her excited appearance, "Yay! Shopping buddies! Let's go!"
Lavra texted her mother about the plans she made with Terri. "I'll be going shopping with a prospective friend!"
Her mother didn't reply. Probably in a battle or something. It wasn't a new thing.
Lavra suddenly stopped when she saw the house Terri lived in.
"This is.... You live in the Pokémon House?!" Lavra exclaimed.
