Most people hate the Pokédex. Too much catching Pokémon, not enough levelling up to gain from it... the list of complaints goes on. However, for Lavra Volcan, she loves the Pokédex more than anything. She could care less about battling, and making friends with people has always been a challenge. She loves caring for and catching Pokémon. She always has.
Nobody really seemed to understand, though. They thought she was a hoarder who didn't care for all the Pokémon she caught.
They would never understand. Especially since they didn't understand Pokémon as well as she did.
Lavra sat in her spot in Class 106-A: in the seat second from the back near the window. She accidentally sat on her orange hair, so she sat up again and held it when she sat. She was always early to class, so she checked her Aria Region Pokédex before the bell. She could see her yellow eyes as she turned it on.
"OK, I have 43 Pokémon. Still have 502 to go..." She mumbled.
Lavra did complete 3 different regional Pokédexes before on different trips: Kalos, Sinnoh, and Hoenn. Sure, there were some repeat entries, but she always made sure they were OK with another friend...
Some other students who came in whispered in a mocking manner.
"Oh, She's looking at her Pokédex again."
"Doesn't she get tired of it?"
"She hoards too much..."
"I CAN HEAR YOU!!" Lavra screamed.
Lavra lost her temper again. They others should know better than to make fun of Lavra due to her explosive temper. However, some didn't care. One such person was Ven Ice, Lavra's rival.
"You guys know that Lavra loves her Pokédex. Why do you bother with it? It's stupid, anyway." Almost on cue, Ven Ice scoffed.
He looked just like snow with his white hair and gray eyes. He had an icy personality to go with it. Always calm and collected. He also loved to pick fights with Lavra for no reason. Maybe it was because they were opposing types: Fire and Ice?
"I can hear you too, Ven!" Lavra always fell for his taunts.
"Oh, scary!" He said sarcastically.
As Lavra stood up to punch him, the other girls formed a wall.
"Just because you have a temper doesn't mean you should punch Ven-sama!" One scolded me.
"Oh, so he can make fun of me, and I have to deal with it?! Cause he's fucking popular?! " Lavra yelled as she forgot to limit her sailor mouth
They looked at each other for a moment with a scared look and nodded.
"So, if you were made fun of by Ven, you'd have to deal with it, too?! What hypocrites!"
Ding-ding-dong-ding! The bell rang as the students went to our seats.
Lavra was the stomped back to her seat and did square breathing. That never seemed to help, though.
The teacher, Mr. Tamaka, walked in just when Lavra calmed down. His disheveled brown hair, lab coat and Pikachu slippers and peculiar way of always saying "yes, yes" were a staple around the school. He looked younger than he was at 42. He always was energetic despite looking so exhausted. Mr. Tamaka was such a nice teacher that it was wasted on the students.
He took a look around the room for attendance and put his hands together.
"Good morning, students! We have a new student today! Yes, yes!"
The entire class was in whispers. Lavra, on the other hand, was completely in shock. She could only think of questions.
Is this new kid going to understand her love for the Pokédex? Or will the student also scorn her, just like all of the other students? What's more, will this person be OK with her explosive temper?
For the first time since her father was killed by a Flygon's Rock Slide, she was scared.
While still thinking about these questions, the new student walked in.
In the Aria Region, this new student would change Lavra's world.
