After leaving the table where he admitted Lavra's pain, Ven and Ambipom decided to split up to find Lavra more quickly. The woods weren't that big in the first place, but he knew the danger of Lavra's past. In fact, he knew more about it than she did. Ven fell in love with Lavra at first sight, after all. He could never tell her due to their rivalry, though. It wasn't so much to save face as to not ruin their relationship. He couldn't keep from fighting her due to their opposing natures which made him more irritable.
And yet, he always wanted to keep their relationship the way it was. If it wasn't that way, he felt that Lavra would fall apart.
But after this episode, he finally knew how much she was suffering from having no true friends. Him trying to keep their relationship as rivals would hurt her even more. So, he decided he would confess to her his feelings. How he felt ever since they were children.
"No! HELP ME!"
Ven heard Lavra's cry and paused. Somehow, he knew.
Did they find her? After all he had done to keep her safe along with her family? After all the research on why Team Crash wanted her in the first place?
No, he couldn't let that happen!
So, he ran towards the cry, but when he got there, Lavra had gotten free on her own. He almost breathed a sigh of relief when he saw other Team Crash grunts on the way to grab her.
She was too tired to fend for herself, and Ven knew it. He ran after her and grabbed her hand. She fell to the ground and didn't look behind her, so Ven knelt and held her face.
"Lavra! What happened?!" He cried out.
Lavra was barely conscious as she said, "Ven? It was Team..." That was all she could say after her lonely night in the woods, not to mention the scare. She must have been exhausted physically and mentally.
He brushed aside her hair, and whispered in her ear, "I love you. I always have."
Then, he picked her up princess style and went back to camp.
"We lost the target." The grunt who got kicked where it hurts knelt down in front of a throne in a room of darkness.
Sitting in the throne was a man of short stature, but he was well over 30. His cold grey eyes were all you could see in the darkness, telling people of his cruel greatness. He stood up and put his shoe on the grunt's face.
"Well, that's just great. Why couldn't you get her when she was asleep!" The man lost his temper.
"I'm sorry, Boss Scure! The interfering pest came and took her away!"
"That's why you should have gotten her WHEN SHE WAS ASLEEP!" Scure yelled and kicked the grunt away.
"She fought back..." the grunt mumbled as he held where it hurt.
"What was that?"
"Nothing, Boss! I'm sorry!!" The grunt ran from the throne and out of the room that was cloaked in darkness.
"Well, grunts can't do this work. Should I send you, Despa?"
"Yes, Boss!" A female voice echoed in the darkness, and then footsteps ran out of the door. A little bit of light from the door put light onto the Boss's evil smile.
"The girl's days are limited. I will have you and that power of yours, Lavra Volcan!" He cackled as the door slammed shut.
