Junipers Heart In The Beast World

Chapter nine

The next morning was a blissful one. I woke in the safe embrace of my new mates satiated beyond compare. As soon as Jasper saw I was awake cause apparently he had been staring at me he kissed my forehead and got up for the day.

I snuggled closer to opal but he started getting up too. Where are you guys going I slightly whined. Opal leaned down to me saying that we needed to start packing cause we had a long journey ahead of us.

I jumped up surprised at this new revelation. Why are we packing what's wrong with this place I said. Jasper also crouched down to my level ..juniper on are way back from hunting yesterday I saw a large pack of colossus no more then three miles from here and it doesn't look like there just passing through it seems they are taking a liking to this area cause I found there scent marks all over the place. It's just not safe here anymore.

What are Colossus and why do we need to run from them? They're a giant type of lizard I'd say but that's where we get all our crystals from but they're not easy to take down taking one down by myself would take me a full day and I barely make it out alive I can't imagine trying to take down a whole horde with just me and opal it's just simply not safe to be here anymore we need to take you where you'll be safer.

Where will we go? Opal and I discussed it and we think the city of Garnier would be our best bet. We will have to make a stop at burrowing buff village to resupply cause it's a two week trip by land. I shook my head in understanding...okay I trust you guys whatever you think is best.

I got up with them and we had a large breakfast of berries and leftover honeyed boar from last night that had stayed surprisingly cool in our experimental ice box opal made me. After breakfast we started packing the little we did have mostly just cups and bowl Jasper had made at my request out of wood a few pelts from there hunts our small food supply that would last about a week and jaspers bag of crystals witch had gotten slightly larger with the four opal gave me when he moved in.

I tied everything in too large  rucksacks and had a Vine strung between the two of them as soon as Jasper transformed into his black jaguar I placed the rucksack over his haunches and kissed him on the nose. are you sure you can handle all this? he looked at me Snidely like I had offended him by asking about his strength and started flouncing his way out the door. I giggled at his show of attitude and hopped on opal as he passed me and knelt down so I could get on his back and off we went out the cave door and away from my beautiful waterfall that I would miss dearly.

The journey wasn't easy by any means but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be riding on my fluffy Fox was actually rather comfortable I hate to admit it but I definitely fell asleep a few times his fur was just so soft . in hindsight I do wish I had packed more furs for warmth because the wind was rather chilly even though it was midsummer.

As we were traveling my mind started to wander and not thinking about what I was doing I just started humming a tune from a song I knew as a child. one of the only times I'd had any happy memories before my parents had changed and this tune was always one of my favorites cuz my mom used to sing it. I hummed along and then I guess I started to sing the words because the next thing I know we were stopped abruptly and Jasper and opal were staring at me like I had just given them a fright. what what is it what's wrong with you guys? I was just singing did I offend you Jasper transformed into his Beast form no we're not upset little one we were just surprised. we've never heard anyone but merfolks sing and you already informed us that you weren't any sort of Beast Folk. oh I said Shiley well I guess humans sing too I didn't mean to confuse you.

humans huh Jasper asked quizzically and I blush bright red realizing I told him more than I was meaning to he smiled and licked me. all right little one we'll talk about this later and he transferred back into his Panther and off we went.

skipping over a small Creek was one of the funnest things we did all day it was so fun trying not to slide off my Fox's back as he bounded from rock to rock it sent me into a fit of giggles. when we make camp on the 3rd night I was so tired I didn't even have time to eat I just snuggled into my big jaguar and fell asleep.

starting on our treck the next morning was a bit harrowing because I was so tired. I definitely slept most the day on top of my fox. opal was very gentle with his walking today just so I wouldn't fall off or wake up.

Days continue to pass by like that ,eating ,stopping camping for the night ,heading off the next morning until midday ,eating again ,and going again until we reach the village of burrowing Buffs.

I was excited cuz this was the first time I had seen any sort of civilization in this world be it archaic but it was still civilization. I was rather excited even though I was a total introvert we came to the main gate of the quaint and cute little village which was mostly made up of large Hills that were actually houses. They remind me a little bit of Hobbit homes from Lord of the Rings. I giggled at my inner monologue again thinking that beastmen resembled Hobbits was just too funny.

We were stopped by two very large men standing at the gate they asked us what our business was and Jasper stepped forward to inform them that we were just here to resupply and maybe stay the night before moving on. They looked down at my chest to make sure that both my mates marks were there and then permitted our entrance.

As soon as we entered the village I looked at Jasper and question why were they worried about your marks what does it matter. Jasper looks at me sadly opal and I were both ruteless beasts we were abandoned by our parents or we were abandoned by our city or our city was demolished that's how ruthless beasts are made and you're not allowed to become a member of a village or to even enter a village unless you have a female mate. oh I looked down rather sadly I'm sorry you guys had to go through that that must have been really hard. Jasper patted my head with a soft smile on his face. the fact that you care so much about such a small thing little one shows such how much of a beautiful heart you have as a female, not many would feel the same as you.

As soon as we as soon as we stop talking a large man with black hair and a white stripe down the center stopped us and said he would take us to our Abode for the night he stared at me a little longer than necessary and I hate to admit but I definitely stared back. he was the largest man I have ever seen and It wasn't all freaking eight pack he had a little bit of a tummy but in like the best way you know like that Dad bod but like buff. he was definitely my cup of tea and his deep raspy voice was something else. I hate to admit it but my lady parts were definitely affected. Jasper looked at me smiling Snidely like he knew something I didn't and I blushed 80 shades of red.

The man with the white stripe turned away and led us to our abode for the night. He smiled at me and said they were having a campfire tonight and he hoped we could make it. maybe I could find a few new mates or just simply enjoy the free food they said they don't have visitors often and they were excited to meet us. I smiled thanking him as he left.

I hopped off opal and he shifted into his Beast form smiling at me also with a knowing look what I asked you guys are terrible you could just let me I don't know figure this out myself instead of imposing your looks on me I know you want me to have more mates but give a girl a chance to breathe... I said exasperated. They bust out laughing at my comments freaking pushing me inside the door as we all came to the little house we decided to rest for a little while until it's time for the campfire and take a small bath. They took me down to the river and I took small bath with some lavender that we found on the side of the riverbed and then we went back to the little Hut and we took a little nap waiting for Nightfall to hit.
