Travis yawned as he rolled over in the California king sized bed, arm stretching out to stop the blaring sound of his alarm. The room was cold and it was still dark outside, about 6:00 in the morning. He had been up at the ungodly hour of 3 AM, when Taylor was emptying the contents of her stomach into their master bathroom toilet. She hadn't wanted to wake him as he had practice a few hours later, but Travis followed her anyway, holding back her hair, getting her water and helping her get into bed when she was done. He slowly pushed back his blankets and got out of bed, carefully detangling himself from the sleeping blonde beside him.

Once he got up, he fixed the sheets so Taylor was fully covered, with only her head sticking out from under the thick duvet. Although she had to be up for a meeting in a couple of hours, he didn't want her to freeze while he was gone. He liked to sleep in cold temperatures, she couldn't stand them. They'd compromised with an electric blanket for her, but she was still cold and preferred to snuggle up to him, calling him a "human furnace".

A gentle smile appeared on his face as he looked at her: messy blonde hair strewn across the pillow, blue eyes tightly closed, mouth slightly open. He couldn't describe how much he loved waking up to see her. How much he loved her all the time. He quickly got ready for football, making sure to be quiet so he wouldn't wake her up. As he was pulling his hoodie on, he heard a soft mew coming from right behind him. Meredith jumped on the bed and marched straight to Taylor, tail in the air, ready to wake her up and demand food.

"Shit, no, Mere, no no no. Bad cat, no! Don't wake your mom up!" Travis whispered, frantically grabbing the cat before she reached Taylor.

Meredith meowed indignantly as Travis walked her out of the room, pushing the door closed with his foot behind him. Travis was a dog person, and he swore the cat could tell, going out of her way to make his life miserable. But Taylor loved her, most of the time, so he sucked it up for his wife.

"Mommy's very tired, Mere-Bear. She's growing your little sister or brother and it takes a lot of energy. You don't want to wake her up or she might get mad and not feed you!" Travis laughed, remembering how just last week, Taylor had decided not to feed Meredith her dinner, thinking the cat hated her because she sat on Travis's lap over her own.

Pregnancy hormones were something else. Some days they couldn't leave bed because she needed him, some days she didn't want him near her at all. Two weeks ago, Travis and his teammates had gone out for sandwiches after practice. Taylor made him sleep in a guest bedroom because she couldn't stand the smell of the tomatoes from his sandwich, despite the fact that Travis had brushed his teeth three times.

Although it was frustrating at times, Travis loved the whole experience and couldn't be more thankful to Taylor. The moment he saw the positive test on the counter he fell even more in love with her. It wasn't planned and the timing was a bit off, they had wanted to to wait until after the season was over, but Travis didn't care. He held her hair back every morning, afternoon, and night, made her whatever food she felt like eating, and dealt with her mood swings. He couldn't wait to meet his baby.

Travis and Meredith walked downstairs to find the other two cats on the counter, Olivia in the sink, Benji trying to open the cabinets.

"Why can't you be dogs!" Travis groaned, shaking his head.
