It had been twelve days since Paws went missing, and Xhenia was devastated. She looked for him whenever she could, but it wasn't enough. Sadly, she couldn't put up missing flyers because her landlord would then know she had a pet.

She was currently at work, but her mind was still on her missing pup.

Not only was Paws missing, but so were most of the things Xhenia held dear to herself. All in ten days.

On top of that, people around her had begun to act weird. They'd act as if she weren't there or she was a disease and spread out. She didn't know why, nor did she care why.

Right now, she was getting coffee for Ona, and as expected, those in the break room either ignored her or left. In return, she ignored their existence as well. Who needs them anyway?

Sadly, she forgot she did need one of them since the three-step ladder was broken, and some idiot had recently been putting the coffee on the top shelf. Coincidentally, this started the same day the ladder broke. Fudge sticks.

With no other option, Xhenia stood on her toes and stretched her body to reach as far as she could. She only made it to the shelf under her goal. She even tried jumping a little, but she wasn't tall enough.

"Is this the one," she heard from behind her. The person's body was flushed against hers, and their breath was hot on her neck.

She felt uncomfortable.

She looked at the coffee and saw that it wasn't the one she needed. The person had pumpkin spice, which was two flavors away from the one she needed.

"No, I need the hazelnut white chocolate flavor," she mumbled, pointing to it. She attempted to move away from the person, but he leaned up and placed his hands on the cabinet, blocking her.

"What was that? You're gonna have to speak up, doll."

Xhenia could feel her heartbeat speeding, and breathing became a foreign activity to her. She felt tears building up in her eyes.

Xhenia couldn't think. She didn't know what to do. All she knew was that she wanted this person away from her.

She had finally gathered enough courage to ask the person to move when a familiar voice bellowed through the room.

"What the hell is going on here?!"

Ona was becoming impatient for her coffee. Usually, it only took Xhenia a few minutes to make the coffee and return, but she was gone longer than usual, so Ona went to check.

She found a guy known as Zack leaning up against Xhenia whilst the rest snickered and watched. Any sane person could tell Xhenia was uncomfortable.

The sound of Ona's voice scared Zack away, allowing Xhenia to finally breathe.

"What the hell are you all doing, standing around watching that bullshit and snickering?!"

"We thought-"

"Well, you thought wrong. You're fired, all of you. Ms. Jon, my office, now," was the last thing Ona said before she left the break room. She was no longer in the mood for coffee.

The other five people in the break room snared at Xhenia as they exited the room, leaving her with Zack.

"What's so special about you, huh? How'd you get them so wrapped around your finger? Did you let them fuck you? Is that what it is," he snarled, gripping her face when he thought the coast was clear. "Why don't you let me try?"

He was already fired. What else was there to lose?

"I didn't do anything."

The tears had finally made true to their threat as they fell down her cheeks onto his hand.
