When Alekses left, Xhenia stood up and looked around the room again.
She needed to find something that could help her escape. From a glance, she could tell this room made sure that wouldn't happen, but she wouldn't give up.
She first needed to remove the cuff from around her ankle.
The cuff itself wasn't metal. Alekses didn't want to risk hurting Xhenia, so she had it made out of special material. It was something Alekses herself had created.
She scurried to the dresser and frantically opened its drawers, revealing they were all empty except the bottom right drawer. She couldn't tell what was in it because it was locked.
What's it for, decoration? What am I supposed to wear, nothing?
The dresser didn't have a mirror either, making it impossible for her to use glass shards. Finding no hope in the dresser, she hurried towards the nightstand.
She pulled the first drawer open, but nothing was in it. She pulled the second drawer open to find nothing there as well.
Becoming frustrated, she squeezed her fist along with her eyes and dropped to the floor. She could feel her eyes burn as tears threatened to escape from behind her eyelids.
No, I can't give up just yet.
Wiping her eyes, she gave the room another once over and found a chest beside what seemed to be a rocking chair.
With the last of her hopes, she scrambled to her feet and rushed to the chest. She pulled on the lever as hard as she could, but it wouldn't budge.
Xhenia let her frustration get the best of her and kicked the chest.
Before she could act on her disappointment, Xhenia felt arms wrap around her torso as a hand gripped her neck, pulling her onto the person's chest.
"Alekses," she gasped under her breath as she gripped the woman's forearms.
"Didn't I tell you to eat your breakfast?"
Alekses' voice was so cold it sent shivers down Xhenia's spine. The trust she once had in the woman had already shattered, leaving her no hope for warmth.
"Why haven't you eaten, Xhenia," Alekses asked, gripping Xhenia's neck tighter. "You haven't had food in three days, eat."
Xhenia froze when Alekses said those words. No one was supposed to know she hadn't eaten, as if anyone paid attention to her. Her worry for Paws kept her from doing so.
"Why do you know that?"
"Eat," Alekses said, ignoring her question.
She let Xhenia go and walked to the tray that was on the dresser. The food no longer had the warmth Alekses wanted to give Xhenia, so she clicked her tongue and sat it back.
Xhenia watched Alekses, afraid of what she was going to do next, but did or said nothing for the next ten minutes. She only stood in one spot, staring at the tray she gripped.
Alekses' silence was starting to scare Xhenia, so she reached out to Alekses in concern.
"Alekses?"
Alekses didn't answer and continued staring at the tray.
"Alek-"
"Xhenia," Alekses growled under her breath as she turned and gripped the woman's jaw. "I'm going to cook this again. If you waste it again, I'm throwing you over my fucking knee. If you eat it like you're supposed to, you'll get a surprise."
Xhenia figured Alekses wasn't messing around and nodded in agreement, forgetting to use her voice.
"How many times must I remind you to use your damn voice," Alekses chuckled darkly.
"I'm sorry, I understand," Xhenia shook. Her jaw had begun to hurt, and tears were threatening to spill from her eyes.
Alekses had become scary again.
"Don't be sorry. You just need to remember," Alekses cooed as she wiped away Xhenia's tears. She didn't want to seem like a creep who wanted to take advantage of her. She just wanted the best for Xhenia. "Next time, I won't be so lenient, understand?"
Alekses knows she said that last time, but this was Xhenia's first day home, and she wanted to take it as easy as possible. It'll start when Xhenia eats.
"I understand," Xhenia whimpered, looking up at Alekses and into her eyes.
This caught Alekses off guard, and her body was the first to react. She pushed from Xhenia and looked down at her with confusion.
Her teary eyes were wide, her cheeks were flushed, and her full lips were in a pout, and every other second, her nose twitched like a little mouse. Making matters worse, her curls had fallen into her face.
What the hell? That's a new look on her face.
The innocent look plastered on Xhenia's face stirred Alekses' lust for the woman, but she kept a leash on it the best she could.
"As long as you understand," she said, clearing her throat and fixing her clothes. She watched Xhenia play with her fingers while looking at the floor before she left.
What is that woman doing to me?
