"Y/n i can't keep doing this with you i have a family my husband is rivals with your brother this would never work."I said as we had just got done maming love before y/n asked if we could take our relationship further.
"Look me in my eyes and tell me you still love carmelo?"She said as As turned my head "Exactly I love you and you love me and i don't give a damn about basketball beef my brother can handle his on the court this is about you and me your scared to-."She said
"I'm pregnant! By carmelo y/n"I blurted out.
"How you know its his and not mines?"she said
"The dates"I said semi lying I just didn't want y/n to keep chasing something that wouldn't work I wouldn't put her through that i had to lie.
"So you came to fuck me and then let me down 'easy' by telling me we're done and your pregnant.Wow Alani ."She said getting dressed before leaving out as I sat on the bed rubbing my hands through my hair.
What have i gotten myself into. ____ Eight years later...
"So what seems to be the problem ma'am?"The doctor asked as we sat in the hospital.
"My daughter has been complaining about abdominal pain, she doesn't eat as much as usual or barely anything at all,she's been vomiting alot also."I said as i said beside her on the hospital bed golding her hand.
"Well im glad you came In we're gonna run a few test and get to the bottom of it."He said as i let out a sigh of worry. ______
"Sorry im late practice ran long .Did they say what up?"Carmelo said coming into the room with ballons and some flowers. With kiyan right behind him with her tablet and stuffed teddy and blanket.I walked as kiyan placed the blanket over her as she slept and sat the teddy bear beside her which she cuddled up to instantly.
"No I-"
"I assum your mr.Anthony?"The doctor said
"Yes I am he."He said shaking his had
"Can i speak to you both outside please "He said as we nodded and followed him out.
"The test results came back and im sorry to inform you but your daughter has liver cancer."He said as I gasped holding my chest.
"Oh my god."I said tears welling up in my eyes as carmelo hugged me.
"What can we do?"carmelo asked.
"Two options she's needs a liver transplant quick but we would have to place her on a wait list but i dont think she has enough time for that."He said sadly. As tears rolled down my cheeks as i looked back through the window at my baby.
"And the second?"I asked
"We get one from a blood relative preferably a parent.Would you both want to be tested?"He said
"Of course"I said
"Wait quick question if I was to get the surgery how long will i be out for ?"Carmelo said as I scoffed
"Your daughters life is on the line and your thinking about basketball? Unbelievable."I said shaking my head
" of course ill still get tested i just wanna know."He said throwing his hands up.
"Six to 12 months"He responded as i walked away not wanting to hear it anymore.
____ Hours later
"Im sorry but you both tested negative your daughter needs O negative blood please try to make some falls to family members and see if they can help her life is dependent upon it."He said before leaving again as I broke down in tears sitting on the chairs outside of my babies hospital room where kiyan was making her laugh about something.Its only one other person i can call.I just hope she'll even give me the time of the day to listen to wha to have to say.I have to save my daughter.
"Hey baby"I said coming into the room sitting beside her.
"Mommy!did the doctor say i can go home yet? Kiyan wont tell me."She said rolling her eyes at him playfully squinting as he mad a funny face at her back.
"Soon baby soon I promise "I said grabbing her hand kissing it as she played with her teddy now looking deep in thought. "whats wrong baby?"I asked
"Am i gonna die mommy?"She said as i was taken back by her statement kiyan spoke up before i could.
"Mini don't say that ever again your not gonna die"He said seriously
"Ok ok sorry." she said lowly
"Besides who's gonna be my bestie if you leave me?"He said as she smiled hugging him.
"Exactly baby your not gonna die the doctors are gonna help you and mamas gonna figure something out."I said kissing her forehead as she looked sleepy.

"Hello?"She said as tears welled in my eyes hearing her voice for the first time in years.

"Wait! No please don't don't hang up i need your help."I said biting my lip nervously.
"What's wrong?Are you alright?"Im guessing she heard my tone.
"Can you-can you um met me at the hospital?"I said
"Im on my way send me your location ."She said before hanging up.
