Thunder crackled overhead. Lightning, fire, pain, grief, rage, destruction, Issac was surrounded by all of it. He was fueled by it. Everything that he had been fighting, struggling to keep down for so long, he finally let it flow freely.
With a sharp intake of breath, he suddenly felt more alive than ever. The feeling of his magic suddenly kickstarting was alluring, addicting almost. It felt as if he was overflowing with power. He felt like he could squash Thanos in the palm of his hand with ease. But he wouldn't give him that kind of mercy. No, he would let him struggle, just like Issac had struggled all these years because of his looming threat. He wouldn't give him the mercy of a quick and painless death. Not as long as he was still living, that is.
Thanos finally looked up as the three Avengers approached, smiling at them.
"You could not live with your own failures. Where did that get you?" he hummed, as cryptic and all knowing as ever. "Back to me."He stood up, humming softly as he stood in front of the outcome of his great plan.
"I thought by eliminating half of all life, the other half would thrive." He continued. "But you've shown me that's impossible. As long as there are those who remember what was, there will always be those who are unable to accept what can be. They will resist.""Yep, we're all kinds of stubborn." Tony agreed. His gaze shifted to the figure behind Thanos before quickly looking back at his face, hoping that he was quick enough so the other wouldn't catch it.
"I'm thankful." Thanos kept speaking, much to Tony's glee. "Because now you've shown me what I must do."
He reached for the blade before it was roughly ripped from his hand, nearly taking his arm with it. Thanos frowned angrily, turning to face Issac. The boy, yes, that was all he was to Thanos, a mere boy, had his hand raised. The blade spun above him, being manipulated by the flow of his magic. He slashed through the air, allowing the blade to hurtle towards Thanos. It collided with his armor, leaving a dent and several deep scratches but not injuring him. Not yet.
Thanos was quick enough to grab the blade, moving to retaliate with vengeance before the other three Avengers suddenly dove into action. It was just like their battle on Titan all over again. One by one they took their turns attacking with everything they had, hoping that one of them would catch an opening and be able to overwhelm him. Thankfully, nobody knew where the stones were at this point. They could easily be buried within the basement level of the compound, underneath tons and tons of rubble and water. Maybe, they would never be found. Not until either Thanos or the Avengers were long defeated.
Issac felt like he had his spellbooks right in front of him. He could remember each incantation, each instruction as clear as day, casting them with ease. Thanos struggled, yes, but even so, his knowledge in fighting and combat far surpassed the four of them combined. His physiology was enhanced, he was strong, faster, more durable than even Steve thanks to his heritage and genetics. He was quite literally built to fight.
Issac felt his back hit something hard and his vision swam again. He groaned, more out of annoyance than anything, at his weak human body. At the limits his magic could surpass, but his physiology could not. Thanos could wipe the floor with them with just his bare hands, even Thor, armed with both his hammer and his brand new shiny ax.
Issac felt the sudden surge in power before he saw it. The hammer rose, without Thor manipulating or calling on it, into the air and hurtled towards Thanos. It collided with his armor befores stopping, suddenly moving the other way before Steve caught it in the palm of his hand, a look of determination on his face that surpassed any Issac had seen before. He smiled widely out of pride, newfound determination in his bones as he used his magic to push himself to his feet. Thanos could distract Steve long enough for Issac to conjure his magic. Instead of forcing it outwards, he let it flow throughout his body, amplifying his strength, his speed, his thought processing, creating a shield around him that even Thanos would have a hard time breaking through.
