Chapter One

Kris is sitting at a table in the mall eating some fried chicken from the food court, enjoying her day off. Kris hears a noise and turns to look at it. She sees a man punching another man in the fountain and a kid off to the side calling out for his dad, which she assumes is the person being punched. Kris shrugs and turns back to her food. As she finishes she grabs her bags and heads out of the mall to her car.

Kris arrives at home and opens the door to her cat sitting there waiting for her. "Hey, James, is dad home yet?" She asks the cat mostly asking herself. She bends down to pet the cat's soft fur, and goes to her room. She hears the door open and hears "Yes..I have an opening for tomorrow..alright..thank you" Kris goes into the living room and sees her dad get off the phone. "Who was that?" Kris asks "A new client, needs a new job." William says putting his coat on the couch. "

Speaking of, you will never guess what happened at the mall today. A guy was punching some kids dad in the fountain in broad daylight." She says picking up the cat. "Really, seems interesting" William says. "Yeah, guy is probably mental, to be honest." Kris says. "Krisalyne. Be nice" William gives a stern look his oldest daughter. "Really, like you are one to talk." Kris says putting the cat down and putting her hands on her hips. "My case is different" William chuckles.

"How is luring children in a bunny suit, killing them, then putting their dead bodies in robots, how is that any more sane than what the other guy did?" Kris sassed. "You got me there" William smiles putting his hands up in defense.

—— Time skip : Next Day ——

Kris was at Sparky's working the counter when Ness comes by and hands her a note. Kris takes the note and opens it, it reads:

Your dad called, he wants you to deliver him a burger and a milkshake during your break.

Kris looks at him "he called just to ask for that, again,really?....fine" Ness looks at his friend, "he is going to have to open a tab if he keeps this up" Ness jokes as he grabs plates for a table. "Yeah, no joke" Kris says writing down her dad's order.

Kris gets out of her car and goes into her dad's office building. She enters and waves at the receptionist, Kris comes by so often the receptionist knows who she is here for.

Kris heads to her dad's office and stops when she sees the door closed and hears talking inside. She decides to stand outside and wait.

Some time passes and the door opens to reveal a man about her age with brown curly hair and brown eyes. They both make eye contact for a moment but the guy leaves in a hurry. Kris gets a weird feeling that she can't place her finger on what it was. Kris shrugs and goes into her dad's office.

Kris walks in to see her dad looking at a file with great interest. "Hey dad, was that your new client?" Kris sits in the chair across from her dad. She picks up the name plate off of her dad's desk. "Steve Raglen, huh interesting" Kris puts the name plate back on the desk. "Oh yeah, I brought you your food." She places the bag and milkshake on the desk. William looks up in surprise "huh, oh ok thanks" he says looking back at the file. "Are you ok, you have been staring at that file ever since I got in here." Kris says concerned.

"Huh, yes, just an interesting client." He says putting the file back on the table. "What do you mean interesting?" Kris asks. William takes his food out of the bag and takes a bite. "Just interesting" Kris gets up and takes a hand full of  fries out of the bag. William looks at her with a 'wtf' look. "Sorry, not sorry. You ruin my childhood, I take your fries." Kris says starting to walk out of her dad's office. "I didn't ruin your childhood." William says mouthful of food and rolls his eyes. "Tell that to my trauma." Kris calls leaving her dad's office.
