The next day Ness and Kris are on their breaks and Ness is watching Kris as she works on what seems to be a golden helmet of some sort. "What are you working on exactly?" Ness asks resting his head on his hand as he watches her. "It's a replica of one of the mascot helmets that they used to have at Freddy's." Kris responds trying to fix some wires inside the helmet. She gets frustrated and throws her stuff back inside the duffel bag she brought.
Kris gets up and moves to go to the dining room of the diner. Ness looks at her confused but shrugs. He never really understood Kris and interests but he will support her all the way (as long as it's not illegal). After he was her best friend and she was his.

Kris stands behind the counter making milkshakes for a table, when she heard the bell on the door ring. She looks up to see the guy from her dad's office walk in but he sees him with a kid. Kris says her normal greeting and smiles at both of them. The guy gives a thin smile back and the little girl waves and Kris waves back. The two sit at the counter that Kris is working at. Kris grabs two menus and places them in front of the two. "Hello, I will be your server today can I get you two started on any drinks or appetizers?" Kris says grabbing her notepad and pencil from her apron. "Umm, I will take a water, and uh a water for her too, please." The guy says. "Of course, I will be right back with those."
While she was getting the drinks she felt eyes burn at the back of her head. Kris grabs the drinks and puts them in front of them with straws. "Would you like a few more minutes to look at the menu?" Kris gives a small smile and in return the guy say's "Uh yeah." Kris nods and moves to the back when the guy calls out "uh wait can I ask you something?" Kris goes back to the two. "Uh yes" Kris says nervously.
"Were you at the career counselor's office a couple of days ago, because you look familiar to me" the guy says looking at her face for her reaction. "Um, yeah, my dad works there and I was dropping off his lunch but he was in an appointment with you so I waited. I didn't hear anything if that's what you are worried about." Kris says with a somewhat quick tone. "No I wasn't worried but you looked familiar so, uh yeah." The guy smiled shyly. "I'm Mike by the way, and this is my sister Abby." Mike says. "Kris" Kris responds and smiles as they stay at each other for a moment.
Mike snaps back to reality "uh, sorry, can I get two burgers please, one a plane cheese burger and the other with everything thing on it." The guy says giving Kris both menus. "Sure, will that be all?" Kris writes it in her notepad. "And a milkshake, please!" Abby says. Kris smiles at her reaction reminding her of her sister when she was younger. "Abby, I told you we weren't going to get anything sweet today because you are going to work with me tonight." Mike says. Kris looks at Abby with a sorry expression.

After they eat Mike pays and as they leave Kris is putting the last lid on the to-go cup. "Wait, before you go, here, it's on me" Kris says coming out from behind the counter and handing one of the cups to Mike and one to Abby.Mike looks at the cup confused and looks back at Kris. "They're milkshakes, I know you said you didn't want to give her anything sweet, but she looked like she really wanted one, so I made her one. I also made you too, you know, as a little 'pick me up' for work." Kris says cheerfully. Abby looks at Kris with a big smile, Kris smiles back. "Oh well thank you, what do you say Abby." Mike says looking at Abby.
Abby hugs Kris and says "Thank you!" Kris smiles and hugs her back. After a moment Abby lets go and goes back to Mike. Mike and Kris give each other one last smile. After they leave Kris goes back behind the counter and picks up the plates they left.
Ness comes out from the kitchen and goes to Kris. He puts his arm over her shoulders "That was really nice of you Kris" Ness gasps "Are you going soft on me, Krissy?" Ness puts his hand on his chest in fake shock. Kris's rolls her eyes at the nickname. "No, besides that girl and her brother reminded me of how my dad would interact with my sister and I" Kris says looking at the door Mike and Abby went through. Ness gives Kris a sad smile and gives her a side hug.
"Come on, let's get you a milkshake to get your mind of things" Ness says leading her to the break room.
