Lily Germaine was death staring me from where she was sitting on the doctors bed.
I had told Bombay, who told my mom, who told Guy and Allison. So, they took her to get it checked out, and here we were.
Once we finished, Lily refused to talk to me.
"Lily, come on." I said, playing with my hands. "I didn't have a choice."
"Yeah?" She snarled. "You promised."
"My fingers were crossed." I admitted.
Her face got even more red. She went to say more, but her parents ushered her out.
"I don't think she's very happy with me." I mumbled to mom and Bombay.
"It'll be okay." Bombay said. "This exact thing happened to Guy and Allison, and now look at them."
My cheeks turned red this time.

Lily Germaine did not play in our game against the Ducks.
We had won, but I could barely focus on the game with how pretty Lily looked. She had on her Mom's old Jersey, and I had on Charlie Conway's. I skated up to the wall, and gave her a smile.
"How was that?" I asked.
She shrugged, but I could see her hiding her smile. "You played okay."
"Okay?" I asked, smiling. "Just okay?"
She nodded, but I could see the smile breaking out on her face. "Yeah. I could have played better."
"Even with your hurt wrist?"
"Especially with my hurt wrist."
We smiled at each other, and I'm pretty sure I went six shades of red when I heard Koob say, "This is just sad to watch. Come on, man, kiss her or something!"
"No, don't do that." Peter called.
Lily covered her face, laughing.
We didn't end up kissing, just so you know.

Lily Germaine was the person I was trying to find.
I ended up bumping into Logan, making my mood drop a bit. We didn't say anything for a little bit, and than, Logan said, "So, uh, how are things with Lily?"
"What does it matter?" I asked, bitterness creeping out. "She likes you anyway."
If my mood wasn't bad enough, Logan had the audacity to laugh at me.
"What?" I said, my voice sharp.
"You think she likes me?" He asked. "Me?"
"Why is that so funny?"
"Look," he laughed. "I am an expert on having people like you. She likes you, Evan. Not me, you."
I stared at him blankly. It wasn't that I didn't hear him, I guess that it just took a minute for it to register. I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out.
Logan laughed again, and patted my shoulder. "I'd tell her if I were you. She's a nice girl. A lot of people like her."
"Like who?"
Logan just smiled. "That kid from the Ducks. Trevor, I think."
I shook my head, trying to break out of the shocked state I was in. "Do you know where she is?"
He pointed behind him. "I think she was somewhere back there."
I gave him a smile, and said, "Thanks!"
"No problem!"
When I finally found her, she was sitting on a bench, scrolling on her phone.
"Lily, hey!" I greeted.
She looked up and smiled at me. "Hey!"
I stood in front of her, my heart beating fast. "Can I-Can I talk to you?"
She nodded, setting her phone down. I stood in front of her, wiping my hands on my pants, trying to find the right words to say.
"Uh...I, uh, I have something to tell you." I stuttered. "But I, uh, don't know how to say it."
I was glad that Lily was really patient, because I was panicking.
"I, uh, I've wanted to say this for a while now, but, uh, I'be been waiting, and building up the courage to say it." I explained. "But, I...I like you, Okay? I've liked you since we started playing for the Ducks, and I don't know if you like me back, I've just been listening to Logan, and Maya about if you like me, because they both know a lot about that, but I'm still not sure, still. I'm rambling now, so please say something because I'm just going to keep talking, and I don't want to say anything else embarrassing—"
Lily leaned forward, and kissed me.
It was short, but it was enough to shut me up. I stared at her with wide eyes, and before I could say anything, I heard cheering.
We looked, and saw everyone behind us.
"Finally." Nick said, smiling. "We've been waiting forever for you guys to admit your feelings."
"I'd never thought I'd have to say this," Maya said, glaring at me. "But if you hurt Lily, I'm going to unleash Lauren on you."
"I second that." Peter said, giving me a look.
I looked away from him, and turned back to Lily who was smiling. I glanced at everyone again, and saw Jesse mumble something to Logan. When they saw me looking, Logan smiled, and if I had been paying attention, I would have noticed the way his smile didn't reach his eyes, and faltered when he thought I wasn't looking.
"So how are you going to tell Dad?" Peter asked, and he seemed smug.
"Your Dad told me to." I said back, feeling smug myself.
Peter's face dropped, and he glared at me. "I'm telling Gordon then."
My face did drop a bit at that. Gordon was the oldest Germaine, and he did not like me one bit. I knew why, though. He didn't like me being so close to Lily. He was never down right mean to me, but he was a little cold towards me.
"It'll be fine." Lily said. "Anyway, he'll be just as interested in you and—"
"I'm sure Mom will be excited, as well." He cut her off, giving her a pointed look.
She seemed to get the hint, but she nodded her head at Sofi a bit.
As we stood together talking, I couldn't help the sparks that flew around in my stomach.
Things were great. Things were really great.
