Chapter 9

Y/N's Pov :

It's been a good 15 minutes since he left. I pulled the blankets over my body when someone knocked on my window, again, and this time I knew who it was. I moved the curtains and internally awwed at how adorable he looked, almost like a puppy.
"What?", I asked looking annoyed instead.
Mingyu handed me his cell phone with the dial pad on the screen, "We don't have each other's phone number", he said.
"And you just came back for that?", I asked a little surprised and typed down my number and gave it to him.
He took it and dialled my number.
"Here, that's mine", he said.
"Anything else?", I asked.
"Yes", he said looking at me with a little smirk and I knew what he was thinking.
I closed the window in a go.
Thud.
Mingyu lost his balance and fell down while trying to move out of the window quickly.
I reopened the window immediately. "Oh god, are you okay?, I asked as quietly as I could.
"Yes, I'm okay. Just 2 or 3 broken limbs maybe", he said while fixing himself.
"Lower your voice!", I said and he gave me a look of disbelief. Another drama queen.

Next day started off well and thankfully mom or Soobin aren't aware of whatever happened last night.
It's around 6pm and the coffee shop was pretty crowded.
Y/N : "A latte, a sandwich with extra cheese and a blueberry cheesecake, is that right?"
Customer : "Yes"
After she was done with her orders, the next customer came forward. "Hello, what can I get you?", I asked.
"Combo 2 and you", he said.
My eyes were on the monitor as I was entering some data and I actually haven't noticed him until then.
I looked up when I heard his voice but this time I didn't hide under the counters.
"I'm afraid you won't be able to afford the latter but we can get you the combo 2", I said as if he asked for combo 2 and another everyday item from the menu. He just smiled knowingly and then took a seat as others were waiting behind him to order.

Heeseung and I were discussing about the new series since we have similar preferences in that case.
"The guy I just served, served too", Yunjin came with a tray in her hand and said it to us lowering her voice so that only we could hear her.
"What is that supposed to mean?", Heeseung asked with a little laugh.
"Okay, don't make it obvious and look at that 'meal' at the right end table", Yunjin said while placing the tray back on the rack.
We looked where she mentioned and it was Mingyu having his food.
Yunjin : "I think I've seen him before - woah, that was hot"
Mingyu was rolling his sleeves up.
Heeseung : "A bit objectifying, aren't we?"
"Shush", Yunjin said and jokingly nudged him.
I turned towards Mingyu and he was looking right back at me so I looked away. He wasn't there for long and left soon.

The cafe's owner visited us that day around the time of closing. He hadn't been here for a while as he was out of town.
"You guys have been doing so well, I'm really happy. And I have a good news, my daughter's getting married soon", he said with a big smile.
His daughter, Yoonji, returned from abroad few weeks ago. We've met her; she comes to the cafe sometimes and we're genuinely happy to hear that.
Mr. Bang's wife divorced him when their daughter was five and he has been raising her by himself since then.

Karina, Yunjin, Heeseung and I left together that day. My phone dinged as we stepped out of the coffee shop. I checked my phone and it was a message from Mingyu.

After going home, I was thinking if I should let him know and then decided to go for it.

That night I slept well because things felt less complicated.
Our college had a football match coming up in a week against another college and guess who's the ace player from our team - Yoon Jeonghan.
I

was walking to the cafeteria with Jisoo while she told me about the guy that she might be going on a date with tonight who's apparently her uncle's distant relative.
Jisoo : "His name is Park Chanyeol. He's smart, funny and someone you'll like"
Y/N : "I'm happy if you're happy"
Jisoo had a bad break up a year ago so I'm happy that she is over it. I hope it'll be the right guy this time.
"Hey, you two wanna be in the cheerleading team for this week's game?", Aera came and asked.
Y/N : "I'll pass"
Jisoo : "Me too"
My full support to those who enjoy it but jumping with a pompom in hand isn't really my thing. I'd rather cheer sitting among the audiences.

Jisoo went home right after our classes ended but as my job wasn't scheduled for that day, I went to watch Jeonghan practise at the field.
I was sitting in a corner and Jeonghan came to me as soon as he noticed.
Y/N : "Hey"
Jeonghan : "Hey, don't wanna go home?"
Y/N : "Wanted to watch you play"
Jeonghan wiped his sweaty forehead on my t-shirt's sleeve.
"You brat", I smacked his arm.

Jeonghan's practise was gonna run for longer so I decided to head home. I bumped into someone at the exit of the college.
"Sorry", we both said at once. It was Taemin. "Oh, hasn't seen you in a while", I said.
Taemin : "Your boyfriend threatened me to stay away from you"
"My boyfriend?", I asked being confused.
Taemin scoffed.
"Let me tell you this - I'm gonna settle the score, sooner or later", he said and walked away.
What's he talking about?

It's around 4pm and after a refreshing shower, I made myself a smoothie with the recipe that Karina gave me. I was vibing to my phone's ringtone while sipping my smoothie and then the ringing ended. It started to ring again and I realised that I'm supposed to answer it when someone calls so I picked it up this time. It was from 'nightmare'.
Mingyu : "Are you free right now?"
Y/N : "Depends on why you asking"
Mingyu : "I'll pick you up in 30 minutes"
Y/N : "Why?"
He hung up with a 'see you'.
I had 2 or 3 possibilities going around in my mind and one of them is him taking me somewhere to murder me. Second has to be kidnapping and asking my mom for ransom but he has enough money then why would he do that? The last one has to be him running some kind of cult and now he wants me to join it. I gotta go with him in order to find that out.

30 minutes later, I received a text from him stating that he's here.
I called Jeonghan and told him to find me if I don't contact him in the next few hours.
Jeonghan : "But why? Y/N, is everything okay?"
Y/N : "Everything's okay. Just remember what I said"
I ended the call and went downstairs. I hugged my mom and I looked intently at her and Soobin. They seemed puzzled but I just waved them bye without saying more.
Mom : "Be back soon"

Mingyu was waiting outside with his bike. I walked towards him and he handed me a helmet. I put that on and he helped me wear it properly.
Y/N : "You gonna tell me where we going?"
Mingyu : "No"
Y/N : "I'm not going then"
Mingyu : "Can you not be difficult for once?"
"You just called me difficult", I narrowed my eyes.
"We have to get there before the sun sets. Get on the bike, please", he said gently and got on his bike.
'Before sunset? Is he gonna perform some kind of ritual or what?' I thought to myself before getting on the back.
