The smell of dark roasted coffee filled the air as the hot liquid touched Isaacs lips, leaving a sting.

His hands wrapped firmly around the mug as he guzzled down the boiling liquid with no remorse.

"That should be illegal you freak of nature." Larry joked, adding his fourth pack of sugar to his black tea.

Soft jazz music played through the small cafe, consequently filling Isaac with a sense of calm after all the anxiety he'd felt in the past week.

"So, is there a reason you brought me on this little date?" Larry asked as he put his lip's against the cup, taking a sip of his sugary-death concoction that he had made.

"I mean, yeah." Isaac replied nervously before flashing Larry a wry smile.

"I know this is kind of childish but...I have a crush." Blurted Isaac, avoiding Larrys gaze – Something he always did when he was nervous.

The younger's eyes narrowed as he placed the cup back onto the table, studying the olders expressive body language.

After a small moment of silence, Larry spoke once again.

"Its on a guy, isn't it?" He chortled, moving a piece of his coal-black hair out of his face. His hair was definitely in need of a trim.

Isaac could feel his heart beat quicken, almost as if it was threatening to jump out of his chest and run away.

"How..." Isaac paused, his brain frying at the way Larry was able to read him.

"Oh please, You called your only gay roommate to hang out and talk about your crush with. Why the fuck would I think otherwise?" Larry jested, taking another swig of his sugary tea.

Isaac just laughs, finishing his coffee before becoming a bit more serious.

"Well...we've sort of been hooking up." He blurts, his cheeks becoming a dark shade of red as he stared down at the old wooden table.

"Thats nice." Larry replies, adding another packet of sugar to his tea.

"Yeah, but, its more like a friend with benefits thing. I dont even know if he really likes me." Isaac admits sheepishly as he looks down at the old and coffee stained table.

"Mmm..." Hums the younger, mixing his drink with a spoon.

"Have you ever tried...I dunno. Asking him on a date like a normal human?" He asks in a teasing manner as he licks the wettened spoon, watching the whirlpool he created spin in circles.

"Wouldn't that be....weird?" Isaac asked.

"Only weird if you make it weird." Larry responded.

Isaac took a deep breath, approaching the door of Nicks room with heavy steps before gently twisting the knob.

"Nick?" He calls out as he tried his best to sound confident, failing as his words came out in a jambled and shakey mess.

Nick looks up from his phone, sitting up in his bed.

"Hi Isy." He smiles, a twinge of mischief hiding in his voice.

"Do you maybe wanna...hang out? Like, just us?" Asks the taller, basically hiding behind the doorframe.

A long pause fills the air before Nick finally responds.
