Chapter 3

Despite his best efforts to sound calm, he couldn't help but sound nervous. Ethan felt his heart race as he waited for the boy's reply.

"I have. It was during my last year of middle school."

"Was it nice?" He asked the boy and smiled anxiously.

In all honesty, he felt a little relieved that the boy had experienced the same thing as him. It made him feel less awkward about his own personal relationships.

"I mean, there was... This guy... And we... You know..." Ethan blushed as he tried to speak. It was quite odd for Ethan to speak about this sort of thing because as much as he may have been bold in other areas, romance seemed to really embarrass him.

"You kissed." He completed what Ethan was going to say.

"Yeah." Ethan said with a small smile.

He paused for a moment and then started to speak again, sounding a lot more confident now.

"There was this cute guy that I liked and he liked me too. So we... We... Well, we kissed." He looked at the boy. Ethan couldn't help but smile at the memory of his first kiss.

"I actually miss him a lot." He said with a sigh.

"So you have a boyfriend..."

"No, we were never something." He said with a small smile. "He was really nice but we just... Well, we didn't really belong together."

Ethan felt as if his past relationship was a little underwhelming compared to what the boy might have expected. It felt normal to Ethan, though, since a lot of young relationships don't work out as well as everyone hopes they do.

"What about you? Are you in a relationship?"

"No, I've never been in one." He said. "But someday I would like to be in one."

Ethan felt his heart race when he heard the boy speak.

"I can... I can tell you're going to make an incredible boyfriend someday." He said in response and couldn't help but smile as he looked at the boy.

Ethan felt the boy was already really charming and charismatic and he had only known the boy for a few hours.

"I really hope so."

The announcement for dinner was heard.

"Let's go. "Aleks stood up and offered a hand to Ethan.

Ethan nodded as he let himself be helped to his feet.

He was surprised by how attractive the boy was and felt himself get more and more excited and nervous as he walked beside him.

Ethan his heart beat fast and he could hear his blood pounding in his ears. It felt as if the whole world was spinning just by being in the presence of the boy. He had never felt this way about anyone before.

Ethan followed the boy as he led him towards dinner.

As they went to the fire and dropped a share of their food for the gods, a figure appeared on top of Aleks head.

It is a golden sun with 21 rays made of arrows

"He's a child of Apollo." Someone said out loud.

Ethan felt his eyes grow wide as he saw the symbol appear on the boy's head.

"Apollo?" He exclaimed in surprise.

Ethan felt his heart begin to beat quickly as he saw the boy be claimed as a son of Apollo.

He guessed it right, even though it was kind of obvious.

"Wow... I can't believe you're actually... Well, um... It doesn't surprise me at all, actually... I mean... You... Y-you know what I mean?" He said, looking at Aleks's face.

"Yeah..."

Lee Fletcher came running towards them, putting a hand around Aleks shoulders. "Welcome, brother."

"Uhm..." Aleks looked confused.

"My name is Lee Fletcher, and I'm the captain of cabin 7, Apollo's, our father's." Lee spoke again.

Ethan noticed how Aleks was acting. He seemed a bit confused and nervous.

"C'mon, from now on, you'll have to sit at the cabin's designated table."

Lee grabbed Aleks and walked him till he sat on Apollo's table.

Ethan felt his heart break a little as the boy sat with his brother and he was told to sit at the Hermes table.

Those were the rules after all.

Ethan wanted to sit with the boy, get to know him better and spend more time with him.

He felt as if the two of them had a connection that wasn't there with the other campers.
