Closing Theme of Skylands Legends:
I am Gaming Scientist, the co-writer for Skylanders Shrink Squad on burnettaj's profile. I also do poetry as a hobby, having parodied eleven songs and counting for that story's Skylanders and villains. While my writing skills cannot hold a candle to Crush 40's, I feel they have improved enough to take a shot at a closing theme for Skylands Legends. This is in the style of Brent Cash's Dear My Friend.
Twilight is falling,
casting shadows on the bodies
that have been claimed by my folly.
My inner flame has been falling
upon seeing all the bodies
slaughtered by pandemonium embodied.
I channeled all my agony and animosity,
creating a group of bodies.
I wanted to be reunited with those I loved
but shocked myself with a pool of blood.
Everyone I knew stepped into the starving void.
Being constricted with fear,
I aspired to expand my boundaries.
For the islands' champions, there is no such thing as fear.
But tomorrow is a new day.
The horizon's growing clear.
All these bodies, let's honor them by building
the world into something jolly.
Let's once again find our flame
and bring an end to the fiend's game.
It all came like a flood,
drowning out my consciousness.
I captured the pawns in life's game,
but unable to enjoy
victory's taste when I came out.
The broken matrix showed my work strewn about.
My mortality's extents were once unknown.
I defied entropy,
thought it was impossible to succumb
to darkness like all of the bodies.
I'm like everybody.
There aren't many of us left,
but we can forge new frontiers.
Those who did the gods' bidding are not alone;
we've lived to see another day.
Let us return to our homes
and lend our support with this game.
Revenge formed a headstrong dome.
The family was watching
as the creature roamed:
a killing machine,
blind to the soul it's turning.
But tomorrow is a new day.
