STEPHEN CURRY
San Francisco, CA.After dropping Raelyn off at Ayesha's house, I quickly made my way to Alani's new layer's firm in the city. I don't really know what to expect but I do know I'll be questioned about my relationship with Alyssa. The issues between Draymond and Jordan aside, helping Alani win this case was my top priority.
When I entered the building, I got many stares from the employees. Most people shyly smiled at me as Ms. Martin's secretary escorted me to her office. It's okay to say hi instead of creepily staring at someone.
"Mr. Curry. Thank you for joining us." Jennifer Martin held her hand for me to shake. Very firm hand for a woman. My gaze turned to Alani who had a huge pair of sunglasses covering majority of her face.
"Looks like you had a great weekend." I said. Alani chuckled dryly as I took the open seat next to her.
"So first things first, Ms. Beyer's whole case is built on the fact that you were jealous of her relationship with Mr. Curry and that's the reason why you fired her." Jennifer read from a white folder.
"I wouldn't necessarily call it a relationship." I chimed in quickly. "We just messed around a few times, that's it."
Alani shook her head and looked straight at Jennifer. I guess she's still mad about that.
"On March 8th, 2020 People put out an article about Mr. Curry leaving a popular San Francisco bar with an unidentified woman after his split from his wife. I'm assuming this woman was Alyssa."
"Yes, it was her." I replied honestly.
"And Alani, you knew that?"
"Yeah. She worked for me. I recognised the side of her face immediately and her ridiculously long hair." Alani replied with a hint of annoyance in her face. "But I swear, I didn't fire her because she slept with Wardell. I'm not that petty nor do I have the power to block her from getting a job in fashion."
"Besides this particular day, did you and Ms. Beyers have any other... interactions?" Jennifer asks me, pulling out a notepad.
There was one night in particular but it happened long after Alani fired her.
"Uh, on December 14th, 2021. The night I broke the NBA 3 point record. We were out celebrating in New York that night and I ran into Alyssa. I'm sure I don't have to explain what happened after that." I said honestly. With the sunglasses now removed from her eyes, I could see just how disappointed Alani was in me.
"Why didn't you tell me about this?" Alani asked.
"Do I need to tell you about every person I've slept with?"
"Yes, Wardell. Especially if it's someone who threatens me and our child. Not to mention the business I've spent half my life building."
"I'm sorry, Ally. I really am. But I didn't think something like this would happen. I didn't have any contact with her after that I swear."
"Alright." Jennifer spoke up, defusing the tension a bit. "Will Ms. Beyers provide proof that the two of you were involved."
"Not that I know of, no. But I mean, if I'm asked about it I'm not going to lie. I was a free man at the time."
"Great." Alani rolled her eyes. "If she can't prove that I knew then this case will get thrown out."
"What if her lawyer puts you on the stand and openly asks if you knew about my relationship with her?" I asked Alani. "Are you really going to perjur yourself?" I watched as the panic grew on her face.
