______________
General Information
Zyrrtha is the planet where the main events of Chase the Stars take place. It is located in the Zutharan Galaxy, far away from the star of the galaxy, Edyria. The inhabitants of the planet are collectively known as Zyrrthans.
__________
Characteristics
On the outside, Zyrrtha is very cold and almost completely covered in ice. However, it has a warm core, and the closer one gets to its core, the higher the temperature becomes.

There are large underground bodies of water and deep caves in Zyrrtha, which are warm due to their close proximity to the planet's core. Most of the planet's lifeforms, including humans, live underground.

The inhabitants of Zyrrtha's surface are completely different from Earth's: they are mainly primitive creatures that can survive on water, with no need for solid food. Underground, more advanced creatures exist. These creatures are mainly docile herbivores, and are non-aggressive towards other creatures.

Zyrrtha has a small amount of plants on its surface, most of which are tall and spike-like trees that are often mistaken for stalagmites. Most of Zyrrtha's plants exist underground and have no need for light. They drain water from underground bodies of water using their long roots.

Despite Zyrrtha's primitive flora and fauna, its inanimate nature is very advanced, with beautiful natural rock formations commonly found in caves and even on its surface. Zyrrtha's mines are rich in ore and gemstones, many of which are extremely rare on Zuthara.

Due to how far away it is from Edyria, Zyrrtha is almost always dark, illuminated only by Edyria's light reflected by its moon, Drilora. Most of its inhabitants can see in the dark, and those who cannot see in the dark are bioluminescent, thus functioning as their own sources of light, and, often, even as sources of light for other creatures.

Some of the creatures who emit light are domesticated by humans, who use the bioluminescent creatures to light up their homes. They are the most commonly seen pets on Zyrrtha.

Despite these factors, not all of Zyrrtha is dark and cold. In legends, a mysterious place known as "The Beyond" is described. It is said to lay beyond the seemingly endless ocean that surrounds the largest continent on Zyrrtha, Kavela, and is described as a place with eternal daylight, no snow, golden sand, a bright blue sky, exotic plants, and mythical animals.
______
History
Zyrrtha was formed billions of years ago from rocks and ice that became clumped together, creating a large structure. This structure would transform into a planet over time.

In the past, Zyrrtha had ice particles orbiting around it, however, they were pulled away from the planet by Zuthara, which they crashed into, melting and turning into water.

Zyrrtha's temperature began to gradually increase, causing part of the ice that made up the planet to melt, creating water. Life was born from Zyrrthan water, and gradually evolved into the lifeforms seen on the planet today.
______
Naming
Zyrrtha is the name given to the planet by its inhabitants. It is named after the word for ice, snow, and low temperatures in the Zyrrthan language, due to how cold the planet is.

Kavela, the name of the largest continent, is a word that could be loosely translated as "homeland", "fatherland", or "motherland".

Drilora, the name of the planet's only moon, is the word for light in the Zyrrthan language. This name was given to it due to the fact that it is one of the only sources of light for the planet's inhabitants.

Additional Information
• Zyrrtha is loosely based on Hoth from the Star Wars franchise (which is also an ice planet with a small amount of life, and is also far from the star in the star system).
