(Look, it's my silly little guy! All the information I've used has already been discovered by the players. I'll be using He/Him for p!Kai for now until his full set is discovered)

(Also I feel the need to say; This is NOT cannon. Just me having a little fun playing with p!Kai)

TW: Suicidal thoughts and ideation

Acho Denholm was eighteen years old today, not that anyone really cared enough to know. Over half the Isle didn't even know he existed. Star was the disappointment of a son after all.

Eighteen years of being a walking second place medal to their brother. He was forever the moon to their brother's sun. His brother was the silver spoon son and star was the wooden ladle someone kept in the back of the drawer because it had no true purpose or use.

Star did not blame Scott, not one bit, they had seen what his parents had put Scott through. He'd noticed the bruises covered by their mother's makeup. Star had noted the way Scott had mellowed out and flinched when someone raised a hand or their voice.

Star couldn't take the torment or abuse anymore. It was weighing on their shoulders.

Star wanted to die. Not that anyone cared enough to know.

He stood in the silence of the Heron Base without a word, looking over the edge of the cliff with the full intention not to live long enough to see the bottom. It wouldn't take much to just jump and make everyone's life better.

Something hit star from behind, a small pebble, so he turned to see that Heron by the firepit. The brunette gestured him over.

It was the middle of the night, star questioned to himself why anyone was up at that time.

For half a moment star considered jumping but something brought them towards the older Heron boy. Perhaps it was the guilt of being caught.

"Don't jump," is all he said, setting his book down with a knowing look. Social situations may not have been his strong suit but he wasn't clueless.

"Why not?" Acho asked with no emotion in his voice, their eyes also conveyed nothing as to what they were feeling.

"Look, I'm not going to sugarcoat it, life can suck, however I promise there is another way out. Why don't you run away? Circumstances lead people where they need to go, like circumstances led me here. I will not tell you how to live your life but I will tell you that you need to live it. Also I won't tell your parents if you disappear without a trace tonight granted you do so alive," Kai promised.

"And what if they don't believe you didn't see me? They aren't nice people," Acho wanted nothing more than to jump and save everyone the burden of pretending star was worth a glance.

Kai shrugged, flipping the pages open of his book, "I was simply reading by the fire, that is what I'm known for after all, my love of the sea, books and history."

Acho took a deep breath in, "Thanks."

"Run along now and don't get caught. I wish you well in your voyage Acho! Oh and happy birthday, welcome to adulthood," Kai waved star off, smiling knowing star was safe, or at least he hoped.

Acho ran silently through the trees with a small smile at the fact that at least someone remembered star's birthday, he looked down as he reached the village, grabbing hold of a random ship with no faction banner.

Acho had to go, star could not be on that island for a while. Void knows where star would end up but he knew that nothing could be worse than this place.
