(Not my best work but here you go.)
(Tw: Suicide attempt and referenced abuse)
Owen was done with life.
She'd had a fight with Gabriel and he just wanted to die.
"Well you were right Mother, I am good for nothing," Owen spoke into the air, his voice was uncharacteristically emotionless.
The rope in her hands seemed to tie itself as he continued to speak to no one, "And I guess you were also right Father, I am better off dead than alive."
He set the rope down and began to pull out a sheet of parchment and a quill.
Dearest Gabriel, light of my life,
I understand that you are upset that I still maintain contact with my parents after what they did to me but you have to understand my reasoning.
My father is a very powerful man with very powerful friends, he will stop at nothing to maintain his power.
He knows where I am but he feigns ignorance as long as I pay my dues and keep in contact, he can hurt me all he wants but I will not allow him to hurt my friends and found family.
I would die to protect you and my friends because I fear what he would do to you.
I love you Gabriel, I love you more than life itself and I am sorry.
Love forever and always, your ever loving girlfriend,
Owen. The parchment was tear stained when she set it down, leaving her hat, gun and sash on the table beside the note.
She savoured his last few moments before he dragged over a chair to stand on, rope in hand.
He was ready to die, and just as he placed the rope around his neck, she accepted that nothing could stop him.
Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on who you ask, for her, fate and other ideas.
"Owen? Owen!" Gabriel rushed to their boyfriend, cutting the rope off her neck, "My baby..."
Owen didn't look at him, instead he cried, or more accurately, she sobbed her heart out.
"My sweet baby," Gabriel held her in his arms, scared to let go.
