Save Me, Alpha Mate

Chapter 3: Meeting My Mate

Nick's (mate's) P.O.V.

I'm 18, and I'm deemed with the responsibility of being alpha over the Red Blood pack. This job is stressful enough as it is, but I don't have a mate, and I don't have time to even look for her. I've been doing paperwork all day when I get a mind-link from my beta, Louis.

'Dude, there's a rogue on our territory, what do you want us to do?"

'The same thing we always do with rogues, you know what to do.' I reply, running a hand through my dark hair.

'So you want us to kill her?' He asks.

'What do you mean 'her'?'

'The rogue is a she-wolf, do you want to deal with this?'

'I'm on my way.' I say, rising up and shifting into my pitch black wolf, and run out the door an into the woods.

As I'm nearing the clearing I smell the most intoxicating scent I've ever smelt. It smells like lemons and roses. The smell is coming form the same direction of the clearing Louis is telling me to go to.

When I reach the clearing, I duck behind a tree and shift, pulling on some black basketball shorts. I'm about to let out a fierce growl when I come into the open, but then I catch sight of a girl kneeling on the ground. I can tell the the beautiful girl on the snowy forest floor is the source of the incredible smell.

'Mate! That's our mate!!' My wolf, Xavier, screams at me.

"Mate!" I yell out loud a I running towards her. I see her flinch back and hurt courses through me. I freeze in place, but even from where I'm standing, I can see she's having trouble breathing. She takes a sharp intake of breath before leaning over and falling over on her side.

I rush to her, and crouch down next to her. Her long blonde hair falls into her face and her blue eyes stare straight into my brown ones before dropping shut heavily.

"Louis, we have to get her back to the pack house, call for the pack doctor!" Louis nods before shifting and running in front of me towards the pack house.

I slide my arms under her long legs and around her shoulders, lifting her up to my chest. I try to ignore the fact that my mate is currently naked, except for a necklace on a huge chain resting on her chest, but that is a very difficult task to do.

I try not to jostle her too much as we move across the uneven terrain of the woods to the pack house and the pack doctor.

The pack doctor is at the door waiting for us when we arrive at the house. She gasps when she takes in the condition of my mate, and guides us into the house hurriedly. I place my mate on my bed and allow the doctor to look her over.

"I'm sorry alpha, but going to have to leave." Dr. Lauren says, placing a had on my arm.

"Why!?" I snarl, making the doctor flinch, but she stands her ground.

"She needs to be looked after, but she needs to be left alone while we do so. Please Alpha." Dr. Lauren pleads, gently placing her hands on my shoulders and pushing me out.

I turn just as the door starts to shut behind me.

"Just take care of her!" I yell as the door clicks shut in my face. "Please."

Sorry you guys. I know it's really short, but the next chapter I have planned is supposed to be REALLY long, so don't hate me just yet please.
