Nick's P.O.V.

I'm awakened when I hear a loud whimper coming from outside.

'Mate! That's mate! Go help her!' Xavier screams loudly at me.

'We don't know if that's our mate, I'm sure she's still asleep.' I respond, not wanting to jump to conclusions.

'Well, look over at the bed and see, you dumbass!'

I growl at him, not liking what he said, but then I look over at the bed.

Komorah's not there.

'I told you!' Xavier shouts, coming to the surface. He takes me over and grabs a vase that sat beside the couch and chucks it at the wall, watching it shatter on impact.

'If she's in trouble, let's go!' I yell, frantically trying to gain control again. Thankfully, Xavier lets me reluctantly.

I don't waste another second to throw open my bedroom door and race down the stairs. The back door is wide open and I head to that, detecting my mate's delicious scent along the way.

'Look!' Xavier says. I turn towards the trees and notice Lexi, one of the pack sluts that used to try and hit one me, come out of the forest.

"Lexi!" I call out, watching as she jumps slightly and loks at me. "Have you seen Komorah?"

"N-no, I h-haven't." She stutters. This girl is so bad at lying that I can practically smell the deceit radiating off her.

"Don't even try to lie to the Alpha, you know it won't work. Now tell the truth!" I shout the last part and make it an alpha order, knowing that she won't be able to disobey that.

"Yes I've seen Komorah." She blurts.

"When!?"

"Just know." She mumbles, probably silently hoping that I won't hear.

Well, her hope went to the wrong thing, because I did hear her, loud and clear.

"Where is she!?"

"S-she's at the territory border, running east."

"Well, why in the flipping hell is she there!?"

"Because I l-led her there." She stutters. I growl menacingly, watching her flinch.

'Border patrol, find my mate, she's heading east across the border!' I shout through the pack mindlink.

'Yes alpha.' They reply.

I shift into my pitch black wolf and start sprinting east, towards our border. I should be able to catch up with her quickly, even with the head start, since she's still in pretty bad shape.

What was she thinking!?

I hope she's alright.

I've only been running for a few minutes when I start hearing vicious snarls. I know they've rogues, but finding my mate is much more important. I mindlink some of my warriors so they can deal with them for me.

I'm about to pass by but then I hear a pain-filled howl.

'That's mate!' Xavier exclaims. 'Save her!'

I don't need to be told twice, so I run as fast as I possibly can into the clearing. The sight that meets me makes my blood boil and makes tears well up in my eyes all at the same time.

There's a huge brown wolf that has pinned down a gorgeous honey colored wolf that I sense is my mate. His huge jaws are clamped down on her beautiful neck and she's struggling to push him off before it snaps her neck. I'm proud to see that there are multiple wounds on the rogue and on the two other rogues standing nearby.

My pride is quickly stripped away as another very loud whimper escapes Komorah's muzzle. Her eyes lock onto mine and her eyelids slowly droop until they're completely shut, with her passing out from blood loss.

A loud snarls comes from me and I bound over to where the rogue is about to perform the fatal attack of Komorah's neck and I run into him, sending him flying. The rogue whimpers as his back slams into a tree, but then he gets up starts to run at me. I charge and meet him halfway, and my strength over powers him and he goes flying yet again.

I feel a heavy weight on my back and a pinch on my shoulders as another rogue jumps on my back, digging his claws into my flesh. I fling him off and then run around and sink my jaws around his throat, ripping out his jugular. He falls to the ground, dead.

Two more to go.

'Let me take control!' Xavier says, pleading slightly.

'Fine!'

Xavier takes over and he doesn't hesitate to kill the other two rogues, rigging out their throats, soaking our muzzle in blood.

When all three rogues lay on the ground, covered with their own blood, I finally relax and my wolf backs down, allowing me to regain control.

My breathing becomes ragged once again when I catch sight of my injured mate. I shift back and kneel next to her, gathering her into my arms and holding her close. I nuzzle my face into her matted fur and she whimpers slightly. My heartbreaks at the pitiful sound and I can't stop asking myself why she had left in the first place. What had I done wrong? Am I really that bad of a mate?

I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I hear other wolves enter the clearing.

'Nick? I thought this was just a rogue call, weren't you looking for Komorah?' Michael, one of my pack warriors, mindlinks me.

"She's right here," I reply, turning around and showing them the beautiful wolf in my arms, "she was being attacked by the rogues." Once these words leave my mouth, all five of my warriors growl lowly at the thought of their Alpha Female being hurt.

'Do you want me to call the pack doctor? Her wounds don't look like they'll heal quickly, they're pretty nasty.' Michael says.

I nod quickly and I see his face morph into a blank expression, proving that he was mindlinking someone. I take the opportunity to reluctantly place my mate down and look through the trees until I find one that we've stored extra clothes in.

After I've pulled on a pair of dark purple basketball shorts, I run as fast as I can back into the clearing to where my mate is being protected by my warriors. They're in a tight circle, surrounding her as Michael places temporary bandages on all of Komorah's injuries.

"We have to get her back to the pack doctor. Some of these are really bad, especially the one on her neck. " Michael says, gesturing to the blood that is already seeping through the bandage. I nod silently and quickly pick her up, careful to rest her huge wolf head on my arm.

I'm proud of how strong her wolf is, to be able to keep her in this form. Usually, when a shifter passes out in their wolf form, they shift back to their human form immediately, but Komorah isn't. Her wolf must be incredibly strong-willed.

"Don't worry baby, I'll make sure you'll be okay." I whisper into her fur, giving her a light kiss on her fuzzy cheek. "Let go!" I shout to my warriors, and we take off back towards the pack house.
