Recap: "Everyone deserves a mate baby, and you are just perfect." She shakes her was to disagree, but I place my hand u see her chin, stopping the movement. "Now you listen to me, you are incredible, and you are my mate. I will not reject you, or hurt you, ever."

Nick's P.O.V.

Komorah nods slightly, without taking her eyes off of mine.

"Good girl." She smiles, the smile lighting up her eyes, making Xavier purr in content.

We sit quietly for a second, but then Komorah's stomach rumbles with hunger. She pushes a hand against it tightly, effectively silencing the sound. A pink tinge creeps into her cheeks, and I have to chuckle.

"Would you like something to eat?" I ask.

"I'm fine." my little mate answers.

"Yes, I'm aware," I say, looking her up and down, her blush only intensifying, "but the question was: would you like something to eat?"

Shyly, she nods, making me grin at how adorable and innocent she is.

"Come on, let's go get you some food." I say, taking her small hand and pulling her to her feet.

"Um... can I have some real clothes?" She asks, pulling slightly on the hospital gown she's dressed in.

"Oh... yeah." I respond, a little embarrassed. I cross my room towards my closet and pull out a dark green tee shirt and a pair of shirts with a drawstring from my dresser drawers.

"Here you go. I say, handing the clothes to her.

"C-can you turn around?" Komorah asks timidly. I nod and spin around so my back is facing her. I don't even think she realized show much trust she's putting in me to just turn around.

My wars pick up the sound of others shuffling and crinkling, but I wasn't expecting to hear quiet sniffling. I turn Slightly so I can look over my shoulder. Tears are slowly running down my mate's pale, beautiful face as she moved.

"Are you okay baby girl?" I ask, slowly approaching her petite figure.

"I-it hurts." She chokes out.

"What does?" I ask, quickly analyzing her, which is a little difficult since she's wearing clothes that completely dwarf her.b

"Everything." She slowly gestures to herself, running a hand lightly down her arm. My eyes immediately zero in on the bruises and scrapes dotting her skin.

A growl escapes my lips as Amber's eyes meet mine momentarily before moving back to look at her child-like bare feet. She seems frightened and my wolf instantly starts yelling at me.

'Go comfort mate!' He screams at me.

"I'm sorry Komorah, I'm not mad at you I'm just angry at whoever did this to you." I explain as I wrap my arms around her, enveloping her small frame. She tended for a second, but then relaxes in my arms and wraps her own arms around my waist, making me grin. I was happy that the mate bond is already affecting her.

"Okay." She says, "Can we go get food now?" I laugh a little and she flashes me a tiny little knock-out grin. She doesn't even have to show her beautiful white teeth to make me breathless.

I give her a look of full adoration and longing, but she looks confused for a second, like she's never seen this look before. I quickly and stealthily peek I to her thoughts.

'Why is he looking at me like that? Is it a bad look? What if he doesn't like me? I'll never be good enough for him, no matter what he says. I'm broken. I've been broken for a while now. What if he rejects me!? He said he wouldn't, but when he finds out about my past-'

I quickly cut off her thoughts.

"I will not reject you, you're my mate and I will love you no matter what. If, and when, you tell me about your past, I might be angry, but not at you, at the people who hurt you. You have absolutely nothing to worry about."

Komorah starts at me, shocked for a moment, before nodding slightly. Then she moves closer to me and hesitantly wraps her arms around my waist, hugging me. My arms shoot out and embrace her in response, and I hear her silently sighing in contentment.

"Thank you." She breathes, clutching the fabric of the back of my shirt in her tiny hands.

"For what?" I ask, leaning my head in and moving it around so my face is nestled into her long straight hair.

"Everything." Komorah responds.

"No problem." I answer, "Now lets go get some food." She giggles, and I'm pretty sure it's my new favorite sound.

I don't heritage to take her hand, and I smile widely as se jumps at the sparks between us. I lead her to the kitchen, which I'm glad is empty, because I do t think Komorah's ready for a lot of interaction.

"What would you like me to make?" She asks quietly, breaking our comfortable silence.

"What?' I ask, utterly confused.

"What," Se repeats, "would you like to eat?"

"I already ate, and besides, we're making food for you. Now, go sit down and I'll cool." I reply.

Komorah hesitates a moment before reluctantly releasing my hand from hers. She takes a seat at one of the high bar stools at the counter soundlessly, then watches me at I move around the kitchen.

"Do eggs sound okay?' I question, pulling open the fridge and rummaging through the contents. I look over my shoulder to see her shrugging her shoulders.

"Fried or scrambled?" She shrugs again, so I pull out the ingredients to make fried eggs because they take less time and they taste good too.

I turn on the stove and place a fry pan in a burner before placing a slab of butter in the pan. I use the spatula I grabbed to separate the joke before lowering the heat and covering the pan with the lid.

I turn back to Komorah an grin when I see her looking at the pack's large stereo with longing.

"Do you want to listen to music?' I ask, smirking with amusement when I see her jump before looking at me and blushing slightly.

"I like music.' She states, not really answering my question. I chuckle lightly at her before flicking in the radio. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Komorah smile widely when the lyrics of "Thinking Out Loud" but Ed Sheeran floats through the large speakers.
