Sooo how did Evan become Buck? Long story short I had this in a fanfic but didn't like how it was going .. so deleted the story .. sorry! But loved this chapter and thought edit it into a one shot! Enjoy!! Also not my fan art! I wish pfft can barely fanfic write so can't even draw stick figures right haha. But couldn't find an @ cuz that was Google search of Buddie fan art.. so if it's yours tell me and I'll @ you!!

~Eddie's POV~

"So how did you get your nickname anyway?"
Hen asked Buck as we all sat around the campfire. We were at Santa Cruz and sitting around a campfire. Buck did small smile and looked over at me before back at the fire.
"Uh it's short version of Buckley.. my last name."
Maddie his sister cuddling Chimney, her finance sat up.
"What? No it's not you said it was because—"
"I said because of my last name. Leave it at that."
I smiled into my beer as I knew the real reason.

~October 2009; 1 Year Before moving to LA.~

My friend from middle school and I were at a Halloween party in Texas. I was visiting my grandparents. Yet my friend, Carlos, wanted to go to a gay bar, Barcode, since he wanted me to meet his boyfriend TK. Yet this wasn't any party it was a dress up/masquerade party. Yet I told my grandparents I'll be back later and they would watch my son Christopher. They didn't know I was going to a gay bar, to be honest they didn't even know we had one. I was dressed as Solider with a face mask since they were out of stock on eye patches, also had to wear mask or they wouldn't let you in the party.

Carlos was a cop as he always wanted to be one, his dad was a Texas Ranger though, as we walked in he walked ahead of me. I saw him hug and kiss a guy as I smiled at them. They pulled apart and Carlos led the guy over to me.
"Eddie .. TK.. TK .. Eddie."
"Hello."
TK shook my hand as I saw he was dressed as an EMT worker with a surgical mask. He took it off his chin and put it in his pocket.
"This masquerade party is fun. It's how we met last year."
Carlos nodded at TK's words before we all went over to the bar and ordered a round of drinks. As I drank my drink I saw couples dancing and then dancing with kissing. Even saw deep kissing as they didn't care who saw as tongues were out. I looked away as I felt I walked in on someone.
"Ooh a mechanical bull. Be right back—"
I said but was cut off by seeing TK and Carlos dancing on the floor. I walked over to get in line. The guy in front of me was dressed in cowboy outfit yet his masquerade mask was black like his cowboy hat. He looked back at me with smile before looking ahead.
"You do this before?"
The guy asked turning back to me. I noticed how blue his eyes looked.
"Once or twice. Haven't in a while since being back here."
"Oh cool. I haven't yet. Little worried if I fall off and break something."
I chuckled and shook my head no.
"Don't worry see those."
We moved up in the line and I pointed at the soft mats around the bull.
"Will catch you... if you do."
"Right right. Thanks."
"Yeah."
"Here you go first since you've done this before and I'll watch to take notes."
I moved in front of him as I smiled before giving him thumbs up before walking over for my turn.

I lasted only three point five seconds out of the seven seconds you had to be on. Walking out of the ring I saw the cowboy blue eyed guy give me a thumbs up back. I saw him sit on the black bull. He tilted his hat at me before holding up one of his hands that he was ready.

My eyes followed his body the whole time without thinking. I didn't even register the ding sound until he was walking to me. I cleared my throat as he smiled and walked out of the ring.
"I did it!"
"Hey that's awesome. Here let's go get a drink to celebrate."
"Awesome."
We went to the bar and ordered a shot each and then another drink.
