It had been 18 years since I last saw Stefan, the father of my girls. We're in New York on the upper east side. The girls are getting ready for school. Nadia is in college so she visits.
"Mom where's my black boots, they were on the shoe rack and I can't find them." Cleo stated to me.
"They're in your room Cleo" I replied
" Mom! It's happening again! " Charlotte and Cleo called out for me

I get a call from Jeremy after I gave the girls their blood. Me and Jer got close after I had left from mystic falls.
Jer: Kat we need your help.
Me : what's going on Jer.
Jer: It's Stefan.
Me: what about him.
Jer: he shut it off. We don't know how to get him to turn it back on. We tried everything. Knowing that you guys had a thing before you left we were thinking maybe you can try to bring his humanity back on.
Me: I'm on my way Jer. Just make sure you don't tell him I'm going back to mystic falls.
Jer: alright I'll see you when you get here. Be careful.
I call Nadia after hanging up.
Nadia: Hey Mom.
Me: Hey hon, listen I need you to come with me to mystic falls.
Nadia: wait Mystic Falls. Why what's going on down there.
Me: Stefan turned off his humanity switch. Jer thinks I can get him to turn it on but I can't go alone and I'm not leaving your sisters in New York so I was thinking you can come with us.
