Ten led her inside, closing the door behind them and Olivia's grip on his hand tightened automatically when he tried to drop hers. Her heart began thudding erratically in her chest as she felt him pause in his tracks and she looked up at him, eyes wide with apprehension.

"Olivia?" Ten's voice was strained and low as his eyes searched hers, "What's wrong?"

What could she say to make him understand that she wasn't simply falling for him? She was falling to pieces, and Ten had no idea just how close to the edge she was. Olivia was nearing her breaking point and she knew if things continued the way they were, she could potentially unleash the very worst version of herself and ruin everything.

"I'm sorry," She said as she looked away, blinking back tears, "I... I'm s-so stupid."

Olivia felt too ashamed to even look him in the eyes, wishing she could crawl into a hole and spend the rest of her days there.

"Hey, look at me," Ten whispered and after a moment, his fingers brushed against her chin, making goosebumps pop up all over her skin as he raised her head to look at him, and he was wearing an expression that left her knees weak.

She wanted so badly to kiss him, and not only because she thought he was gorgeous, but because she felt so vulnerable and lost, and she hoped to find comfort in his embrace.

"You're not stupid," Tian said firmly and she almost believed him, just from his tone alone, "But I do think you're a little confused right now."

She was so sure that he hated her now and Olivia felt a wave of guilt rolling over her, her chest growing tight at the concern in his eyes.

"Please," She whispered, tears welling up on her waterline as she tucked her face into his chest, "Please don't hate me because of this. Please don't... Please don't leave me..."

Without a word, Ten wrapped his arms around her, holding her while gently rubbing over her back.

"I don't hate you," He said, "I could never hate you, Olivia. You're incredibly special and I care about you a lot."

"Then why can't we be together?" She asked, voice muffled by his shirt.

When Ten was quiet, she decided to peek up at him, her eyes meeting his with a hopeful gleam, "I can feel it all the way down to my bones that there's something between us, and I'm tired of pretending it's not real."

Ten let out a breath, and his mind seemed to be racing with a hundred different thoughts as his expression turned somber, "I'm sorry but you must understand I'm a professional. There are boundaries here that I just cannot cross. It simply wouldn't be appropriate."
