Chapter Three

The next day, I went took Lily to the beach, because she begged the crap out of me to go, and I needed to think about everything.

"Help me make a sandcastle, Maddy!! Please?" Lily asked as I put up and umbrella over my towl.

"Augh! Lily, let me relax for a minute."

Lily sighed and nodded. She ran over to the ocean and started splahsing little waves.

"You babysitting?" asked a voice. I turned around to see Timothy.

"Nah. She's my little sister, and has been begging me to go to the beach now that it's summer," I said looking over at Lily.

"Eh, I'm here with family. You know, mom, dad, grandparents. Not very fun," Timothy chuckled.

"I think it would be a blast," I said smiling. Just to see my parents again for one day would be a blast.

"Well why aren't your parents here?"

Oh no. He went there.

"They are busy."

He just nodded understanding.

"Erm, bye Timothy!" I called out as he ran off.

"Bye! And please, call me Timmy!"

I grinned. A few words can change someone from not even looking at you, to talking to you.

"Maddy! Maddy! MADELINE!"

"Huh? Lily! Don't use my real name! What is it?" I asked her harshly. I hate it when someone calls me my real name, Madeline Harper.

"I wanted to ask if you could build a sandcastle with me now," Lily begged me.

"Lily, calm down. I'm really tired, and so that's a no..."

"Aww. I thought you would say that. Well can that guy who offered to help me help?" Lily pointed to Timothy, I mean Timmy.

I laughed. "Sure."

She ran off to join him, which gave me time to think.

Albert is such a jerk. Why would he do something like that?! Eddie and Cole and him are probably best buddies now. Augghh. This just proves you can't trust nobody.....

I heard a scream. Not just any scream, but Lily's high pitched scream. And it wasn't because she was having fun, it sounded like she was scared and was going to get hurt.

"Let me go! Let me go!" Lily called as I ran towards the shoreline. Albert held on to Lily, and Eddie and Cole came behind me.

"So, is this your little sister?" Eddie asked with his signature evil grin.

I scowled. "None of your business! Just put her down!!"

Cole grabbed me, and put his hand over my mouth. "Either you tell the kid to stop screaming, or you both get hurt," Cole whispered in my ear.

"Lily, be quiet. It's okay," I soothed. She stopped imeaditly, and started to silently cry. She and I didn't know what could happen. For all I knew, we could both get hurt and I could get raped.

"Leave those girls alone!" I heard a fiamler voice say. It was Timmy, and he was throwing punches to everyone of them. Albert let go of Lily imeaditly and ran. Cole got hurt bad, and Eddie took off with Albert. Once Cole was on the ground, I ran to Lily and hugged her. She was so shaken up, I could tell she would probably be traumatized for life.

"Are you sure you were ok yesterday? These guys seemed to know you," Timmy said looking suspicious. Lily looked up at me confused, because her and Krisy never knew about the accident with Albert.

"Yes, I was fine. And thank you for helping us out," I said politely.

"No problem."

And with that, the 'hero' of the day ran off to his family.

"Don't tell Krisy about this," I told Lily as we headed home.

"Why?"

"Because then she would worry, and that means no more of me taking you anywhere without her coming along. And we just want sister to sister time, right?"

Lily sighed. "I suppose." Then, Lily smiled mischievously. "If you just want sister to sister time, why don't you watch Tangled with me when we get home?"

I shook my head. "Alright, Mickey Mouse."

"No! I'm Minnie Mouse," she said matter-of-factly. I laughed.

"And I hope that never changes."

The book may be getting off to a sloooow start, but don't worry romantic fans, romance is on it's way!
