Me and Timmy kept in touch after that day. It was nice to keep in touch with another guy besides Adam. But we were just friends, nothing more. I couldn't stand another break-up.
I worked at the cafe a lot, just to pay the bills. Most of the time with Carol, the other times with Colby. I have grown to be okay with him, without Lisa coming. And I still thinks he has a thing for Lisa.
"So, you don't think you like Timmy? Not even a little?" Krisy asked, more like teased, one evening after we went bike riding in the park.
"No, Krisy. Never shall I date again."
"I will quote you on your wedding day," Krisy said with her eyebrows raised.
I chuckled as I headed upstairs. I heard my phone buzz.
Timmy Dale:
Hey Maddy just wanted to invite you to my brother's birthday 'bash' so you could meet my family.....
I gulped. Don't you only meet the family if your dating the guy? I said I would never date again!
Maddy Harper:
Only if my friend can come.
Timmy Dale:
Alright! It's June 20.
I looked at the calendar on my phone. A week from now. I just had to tell Lisa, and then I can go. I just didn't want it to look like we were dating.

"Hey," Timmy greeted as he held the door open.
I waved and Lisa nodded politely. We both had skater skirts on with a shirt. I left my hair down and curled soft curls, and Lisa put her blonde hair in a ponytail. Nothing to fancy, besides, it was probably his younger brother's birthday, right? If he had a younger brother....
"Um, so is you brother older or younger?" I asked as me and Lisa stepped inside.
"Oh, he's older. Graduated last year. Just never wanted to move out," Timmy chuckled, "His name is Matthew, and he's my only sibling."
I nodded while looking around. The house seemed comforting for some reason. Not a stiff atmosphere like Albert's house.
Timmy took us outside, and there was a small table with balloons. A cake the read, 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTHEW,' sat on the table. I saw what looked like Timmy's dad grilling, and his mom brought out some chips.
"Oh! Timmy, are these...girls...your friends?" His mother asked as she set the chips down.
"Yes, and what's wrong with them being girls?"
"Oh nothing!" His mother blushed, "I just thought maybe they would be guys.... So, which one of you has been hanging out with my pumpkin for the past few days?"
Timmy rolled his eyes. "That would be me," I said raising my hand slightly.
His mother nodded. "Names maybe?"
I blushed. "Oh! I'm sorry, I'm Maddy."
"And I'm Lisa," Lisa said playing it cool like she always did.
"I'm just teasing. Nice to meet you two. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go into the kitchen."
Timmy followed his mother and me and Lisa just stood there.
"I wanna see his older brother," Lisa joked, I think.
"Oh shut up!"
Timmy came back out with Matthew. He was taller than Timmy, and besides blonde hair he had shaggy brown hair. He smirked when he saw us.
"Where did you find these chicks?" Matthew asked.
I blushed, once again, and Lisa blushed. Timmy face palmed his face.
"Real mature," Lisa said rolling her eyes, but there was a hint of a smile tugging at her lips.
"That's one of my best qualities. I'm Matthew, and this pipsquek is my brother."
"I'm Lisa, and this is Maddy," Lisa said pointing to me.
"Which one is your girl?" Matthew asked all serious like.
Timmy groaned. "Dude, Maddy isn't my girl. You sound like freaking dad."
Matthew shrugged and went to the table and shoved some chips in his mouth. "Are you two taken?" Matthew asked once he swallowed the chips.
Timmy went up to Matthew and whispered something in his ear. Hopefully he told him to stop teasing us. I don't think my face could get even more red.
"Happy birthday, Matthew," Lisa said breaking the silence.
"Thanks," Matthew shrugged and got up to talk to his dad, who we have not met yet....
"Yeah, he is a pain in the butt. Wish he would just move out!!" Timmy rolled his eyes. Me and Lisa giggled.
After we ate, Lisa started to flirt, I mean, talk to Matthew and it was awkward for me and Timmy.
"Wanna go upstairs to my room?" He asked suddenly.
I just shrugged and nodded.
"Don't do any funny business! I'm sure Maddy's parents don't want her pregnant!" Matthew called. I blushed and Timmy just scowled.
"So, I hope you like my family, because I know my family likes you," Timmy chuckled.
"Oh, yeah, they are all nice. Except Matthew. He is such a pervert."
Timmy laughed, "Good thing you don't live with him!"
I nodded. Then, silence.
"I needed to ask you a question, Maddy."
I looked at him, motioning him to continue.
"Since we are friends in my opinion, do..."
"Do I what?"
Timmy's face turned red and he just looked down. "Do you want to hang out more often?"
"Of course," I said with a small smile.
Never to date, just to hang out.
