Aden and I were sent by the King to test my powers in the Armory. Whatever that means. I don't have control over anything. Shit just starts to happen when I'm emotional. Which is really frustrating considering they could've been useful at certain times. Like oh I don't know, when we were surrounded by werewolves or any of the other bullshit I thought was fake a few weeks ago.

We decided to take the thirty minute walk through the castle there instead of rifting so we could get some peace and alone time. Although, I did notice a few guards tailing us.

Which by the way, I hope isn't their normal job because they sucked at it. At least they sucked if they were supposed to be incognito mode. I made them out within the first five minutes of our walk.

Aden pulls me from my thoughts as he tells me we're here and pulls open a massive wooden arched door that's covered in some type of metal. I'm assuming for reinforcement, but ya never know here. Knowing what I know now it wouldn't surprise me if it was some type of magic dampener.

"You must be the 'IT' that's here for me to figure out what you are." Says the woman who is staring directly at me.

Being too stunned to speak has been a weird trend lately but here I am, just standing there like an idiot with my jaw to the floor.

This woman is beautiful. Like seriously beautiful. She's not much taller than me, but she's toned in all the right places from what I can see through her black combat pants and tight black long sleeves. Not to mention she has perfect olive skin with brown eyes and long deep brown hair pulled into a high ponytail.

If I was ever going to be into women this would be it. Not even kidding. Like who would say no to that? Well, unless she's a bitch. Which I get the vibe she is.

She must have caught me staring because she made it a point to look me up and down as well before spreading a sly smirk across her face.

"You two done here?" Aden asks, looking back and forth between us.

"Yup. More than done. I'm ready to go." I snap a little harsher than I meant to.

"But you just got here little one. I haven't even started with you." The woman says.

"Genevieve, that's enough." Aden barks.

"Hey now, just breaking in the fresh meat. And Genevieve, really? That's harsh."

"Would you prefer Genevieve Harlow?" Aden pipes back.

"Ha. Ha. Very funny. Now, can we get back to business? I really don't have all day to sit here and goof off."

"Sure. This is Sammy. She's very important to me so don't be a dick Gwen."

"Uhh, yeah. Hi. Nice to meet you... Gwen?" I manage to spit out rejoining the conversation.

"Yup. Gwen is the name. Although, if. You want to piss me off, go ahead and call me Genevieve. See where that will get you." She says with a wink.

"Ya know, I'll just stick to Gwen. Don't feel like poking a bear today."

"Good idea." Gwen says with a smile.

"Alright, now that introductions are out of the way are we going to get started? I have things to finish with Sammy when we're done here."

"Alright, ew Aden, I don't want to know about your sex life."

"I never mentioned sex Gwen. Get your head out of the gutter."

"Aden, let's be honest. Your head is always in the gutter." I chime in.

"At least she knows." Gwen says pointing and laughing. "But yes, we can get on with it." She adds.
