I wake up tangled in Adens arms still wearing his t-shirt and nothing else. My panties are in pieces somewhere on the floor and when I try to move I just feel aches all over. Last night was... amazing. There's no other word to describe it. But waking up, it brought reality crashing down. Holding onto the shred of peace and bliss from last night I snuggle closer into Aden and he lets out a little rumble from his chest.
"Goodmorning my darling." He says goggy and rubs his hand over his face.
"Goodmorning, love." I say back as he squeezes me into him like I can get any closer. "I wish we could just stay like this." I add.
"Me too." He responds with a sigh. "We have a lot to discuss and figure out today that was put on the back burner last night. Which I'm not complaining about, trust when I say that."
"I do trust you. I know we need to talk about everything as well. Although, I think the most pressing matter here is I don't have any clothes."
Aden lets out a laugh. "Oh don't you worry. I already sent someone to get all your things from home. They should be outside the door all packed up. I can bring them in for you while you're in the shower. Since I'm assuming you'll want a shower this morning?"
I turn to get a good look at him and he just has that same devilish grin on his face. God, why does he have to be so perfect. I mean, of course he thinks of practically everything. He's over a hundred years old. At the same time though it makes me nervous that we're here together... and that's against his Fae code.
"Aden, aren't you afraid of having me and my things in your room? Even your great uncle called me your... pet."
"Aurora, I told you I'd let the rules be damned and I meant that. I don't care. Not what my uncle thinks, not what the others think, and sure as hell not what the elders think. They can call you human or mortal to try and get me, but if we're being honest none of them can know for sure what you are. So they technically have no grounds to stand on."
"So... we can get away with it on a technicality?"
"Yes, so don't worry about me or us. We're perfectly okay. Okay?" He reassures me while cupping my head and kissing my forehead.
"Okay." I reply trusting what he's telling me. "I think I'm going to get in the shower now though. The grossness is starting to set in." I add while wiggling out of his arms and head for the bathroom.
________
Aden did as he said he would and had all of my things in his room by the time I got out of the shower and got ready for the day. He had brought some clothes and all my toiletries in while I was cleaning up which was really sweet. Every minute I'm reminded why I love this man.
We sit on the sofa under a large window in his room overlooking, what I assume to be one of many courtyards, just soaking in each other's presence before the inevitable talk about what comes next. I don't want to be the one to break the silence. Especially when it's not something I want to even discuss. So I've just been sitting in silence.
What feels like forever goes by before Aden finally breaks the silence of the deathly quiet room.
"We have been summoned to appear in the throne room later this afternoon."
"What?" I whip my head towards him, breaking the trance the outside world had on me.
"Unfortunately the elders want to meet you and my uncle has some news that will affect both of us. Before you ask, no, I don't know what it is, but I would like to find out. Gwen should be here soon as well to go over a training schedule."
