Mingi never stayed in his room every night.

Every time Yunho returned to the dorm at night, he never saw Mingi. The son of Hades, who went by the demigod name Thanos, always vanished. Yunho would only catch a glimpse of him in the morning when he opened his eyes. There Mingi would be, asleep on the opposite bed, an image Yunho would see for the first time every morning.

.

The bell signaling the end of class was the sound Mingi anticipated most each day, especially if it was the last class of the day. Because he would quickly return to his dorm room to finish all his assignments. Yunho? He was involved in six campus organizations; he could never come home early every day. It was always past six in the evening, often even much later. If he still had activities in the Department Association until late at night, he usually stayed overnight in the secretariat room on campus. But that was rare.

So, while Yunho was still out, Mingi had to rush to complete all his assignments. No matter how difficult the tasks he worked on, he tried to do them alone, without any help from friends. Oh, yes, even he doubted if he had friends. Yes, there was San. The only one. But, you know, the son of Fortuna was from a different faculty, let alone a different major. Mingi couldn't ask him about anything other than Mathematics and Physics. Outside of those subjects, he would surf the internet for research and borrow thick books from the library.

In essence, he had to finish everything before Yunho came back.

Once done with his tasks, Mingi would always read a book on his bed. If not, he'd exchange chat messages with San while lying on the mattress. Their rooms were next to each other, but just like Yunho, the son of Fortuna was busy with campus organizations. So, he also rarely stayed in his room.

When the clock struck six, Mingi prepared. He never turned on the room light since he arrived. It didn't matter. He came from the Underworld where the sun didn't rise. Darkness was his daily environment. No wonder he emitted a dark aura from his body. And because there was no sun in the Underworld, the place was very cold. Okay, now we know where the cold nature of the son of the God of Darkness comes from, even though he is a fire bender. He is the perfect representation of the Underworld in demigod form.

A few minutes after getting ready, he heard someone unlocking the door. Mingi immediately made himself invisible.

Entering the room, Yunho pressed the switch button to turn on the lights.

Mingi saw Yunho sigh as he observed Mingi's bed.

"It's always like this. Where does that guy go every day at this hour? Doesn't he want to talk to me?"

Wait, Jung Yunho. It's not the time yet. I still have to prepare my heart to be willing to talk to you.

Mingi watched Yunho undress entirely. He saw the son of Poseidon's body bend perfectly with muscles and smooth skin. Yunho was accustomed to living in the water; he had nice and fair skin as a result.

At the beginning of their time as roommates, Mingi felt breathless seeing Yunho's naked body. Now he was used to it. Although he still couldn't eliminate his dirty thoughts about what he could do to the tempting spots on Yunho's body. He still restrained his desires and passions.

Yunho entered the bathroom and locked the door. The sound of the shower's falling water and his body's smooth friction was audible to Mingi. Hades' son swallowed saliva. Sitting at his study table, Mingi continued to wait for Yunho.

After finishing cleaning up, Yunho emerged from the bathroom door. Mingi never took his eyes off Yunho as he grabbed a white t-shirt and blue boxers from the wardrobe, put them on, and began other activities. Playing with his mobile phone to check social media, reading a book, doing assignments—anything. Mingi observed everything. By the way, he admired Yunho's serious face when he worked on assignments. For him, it looked arousing. Regardless of the different sentiments he had toward Poseidon's son, everything Yunho did always seemed arousing to him.

Mingi was glad he could do this. Before, he could only see Yunho from a distance. He had to find out where Yunho was. He had to find reasons to be in the same place as Yunho. Now, he could see the God of the Ocean's son up close, every night. Even very close. Very intimate, even to the most private areas of his body. An extraordinary thing for Mingi was to remain focused on the next day's lessons after what he saw the night before. If Mingi didn't make himself transparent like now, he wouldn't have a reason to keep watching Yunho. Yunho could invite him to talk, and he wouldn't turn his head to the guy with the blue ocean hair.

When the time came for Yunho to lie down on the bed to sleep, Mingi would do the same after hearing Yunho's gentle snoring. He slept while remaining invisible.

Always the same, every night was the same. This pattern continued.

In the morning, Yunho always woke up first. He would see Mingi there, on the bed across from him. Because Mingi could only use his superpower to disappear at night. When the sun rose, his concrete body would automatically become visible again.

Mingi might always sleep latest, but he always went to shower and headed to campus earlier every morning, even though classes started in the afternoon. He would spend time reading books in the quietest corner of the library until the class bell rang. And before Mingi entered the bathroom, Yunho once tried to talk to him.

"Mingi, last night—"

"Never ask anything about me not being here every night. That's my private business. So, don't interfere."

Mingi answered with a cold, low voice that sent shivers down Yunho's spine. Mingi didn't even look Yunho in the eyes when he said that. And he entered the bathroom without wanting to hear Yunho's response.

Since then, Yunho never asked again. However curious he was about his mysterious roommate, the son of Hades. Yunho knew San was the only friend Mingi had. So, he asked the son of Fortuna about any information he received from Mingi. But unlike Wooyoung, who liked to reveal other people's secrets, San was the best secret keeper you could ever find. So, he stayed silent because he had promised Mingi. He told Yunho that it was a matter of privacy. And Yunho appreciated San's loyalty to Mingi. San belonged to everyone, not just him. He would do the same if he were San. And he imagined that if he were in Mingi's position, he would be extremely disappointed if San leaked the secrets he had.

"I wonder how I ended up being Song Mingi's roommate. Out of hundreds of dorm residents, why did I get that silent and terrifying guy?"

Clearing his throat to cover up his nervousness, San shrugged. "Who knows? It's called a random draw. Just accept your fate."

"Someone didn't just manipulate that drawing machine, did they? Someone who holds a grudge against me and wants to see me suffer?"

San burst into laughter hearing that. He wanted to apologize to Yunho because he wanted to say that Yunho looked foolish. Because Yunho didn't know anything behind all this. But it didn't matter; the important thing now was that San had the best plushie as a gift from Mingi, in exchange for his drained energy that he had to replenish for days. He displayed the big doll on his bed, to remind himself that the expensive item had played a part in the series of efforts in Mingi's struggle to get Yunho.

And in front of the visibly annoyed son of Poseidon, San could only say in his mind,

Be patient, Jung Yunho; happiness will come to you soon. You are my friend, so you will get good luck from me.
