Strange rain in the evening

Yunho had been walking in the seventh-floor dormitory corridor – the floor where his room was – when the sound of thunder struck, and rain suddenly poured heavily. A unique rain. He suspected it was the work of Kim Hongjoong, the son of Zeus, his senior who liked to control the weather whimsically, not for logical reasons but out of selfishness. Despite being the Student Council President, his behavior was sometimes uncontrollable.

Containing the turmoil of love is not an easy matter, especially when it comes to expressing feelings for someone who is always by your side. No, not quite right. But at least you can call them someone who is always there for you every time you feel down and need a hug.

That's how Hongjoong feels right now.

Seonghwa, the son of Hera, has been his closest friend since they met on freshman registration day. They met by chance, got to know each other, became each other's only known – initially – and fatefully started a relationship called friendship. They were truly loyal, even though they didn't restrict each other from forming romantic relationships with others. Especially Seonghwa, the owner of the demigod name Kleopatra, who knew well that Hongjoong liked to flirt and date demigods here and there. But still, Seonghwa was a place for Hongjoong to return to. Unlike Seonghwa, who had no lover for the reason that he didn't feel interested in it at the moment. He focused on academics and how to control his superpower. No, no. That's not an excuse. That's the truth.

Entering the third year, they both breathed in the same room. Yes, they – fatefully again – became roommates. This is where they first had a physical relationship, based on curiosity. They enjoyed that deep touch. Seonghwa would always willingly submit to Hongjoong's dominance. Until these popular demigods did it almost every night, without love. No matter how tiring the internship report tasks were. No matter how heavy the mandates from their respective organizations – considering both of them were both Student Council Presidents and also active in other organizations – that's how they relieved stress. With this, their friendship grew stronger.

In the fourth year, slowly those feelings came at the wrong time. One of them lost, admitting weakness.

Hongjoong.

This year, they occupy separate rooms. Hongjoong with Wooyoung, Seonghwa with Jongho. They could adapt well to their respective roommates. However, it still felt different. So sometimes, the son of Zeus asked the son of Eros to switch rooms with the son of Hera on some nights. Wooyoung didn't mind, of course. After all, he also liked to ask Hongjoong to switch rooms with San – if you know what he meant.

In that moment, Hongjoong admitted that he loved his friend. Not just falling in love. Not just a feeling where he admired Seonghwa like a fan admires an idol. More than that, he truly loved Seonghwa, a feeling where he wanted to protect and own him entirely. From head to toe. From body to soul. Everything.

But Seonghwa rejected him.

Hongjoong had guessed that this would be the rejection he would get. And he was ready to accept whatever the answer was. If Seonghwa didn't want a more intimate relationship between them? Okay, Hongjoong wouldn't force it. Although he had a strong dominant aura, his gentle nature overcame everything. He was determined to continue making Seonghwa feel comfortable with him, whatever the name of their relationship. Hongjoong didn't care. As long as he didn't lose that son of Hera from his side, he – maybe – would be okay.

He hoped.

Who knows if they will have their own partners in the future, that's another story.

"Hi Seonghwa. Here you are."
