SOPHIE POV

I had a hard time staying awake on the drive home.

We stayed at the Farnsworth's well past 9 so between a busy day and lots of swim time my body was aching.  The pool definitely helped my back and Milo was even more active than usual today.  Everyone had the chance to feel his kicks which created an even deeper bond between all of us. My parents insisted on ordering takeout for dinner so we had Greek food with fresh hummus from my Mom's favorite spot. Mary had not been there before and seemed to love the meal, raving about everything we enjoyed.

Her approval was not given lightly so it was an encouraging sign. My Mom and Mary have known one another socially but were never close. Since my mom picked me up in the morning, Will drove us home. He started yawning as much as I was while we let silence fall over us.

"Thank you for today."

His words made me tilt my head toward him with confusion.  "Why are you thanking me?  Your family hosted mine and provided incredible food then my folks handled dinner. I didn't do anything."

Will chuckled deeply, reaching over to hold my hand.  "Well, you were part of that.  I need more of that pasta salad when you get the chance to make it again." He darted his eyes to mine before focusing on the road again, "It was definitely a far better day than I anticipated. Everyone got along, we had delicious food, and now Milo has two sets of grandparents excited for him to arrive."

I grinned and watched Will while he drove.  The fact that he was 6'5" made me wonder how tall Milo would be, though our son was destined to have dark hair and either green or brown eyes. When I first saw Will at the party I thought he was hot, then as we spoke the attraction became more vibrant. The tender way he listened when I shared my thoughts along with how excited Will became as he dove into historical topics he loves opened my heart.

I know I fell in love as he taught me about the constellations while we laid under the stars. Will pointed out the W shape of Cassiopeia then Orion, explaining the mythology while I listened with rapt attention.

Every word from his mouth made me want to hear more.

Will turned and gave me a smile as he found his spot in the apartment parking garage.  "See something you like?" He had a cocky grin that I had not seen since the party, dark eyes sparkling as he teased me.

"Yep."  I answered before stretching lightly while I got out of the passenger seat, then changing the subject from my lustful thoughts.  "I appreciate the ability to use the pool, too. Between that and back rubs from you I'll be feeling great the rest of this pregnancy."

He was quiet, his eyes roving across my face as though he wanted to memorize every part of me. The night we met was the same way. Now I felt like all Will wanted was to make sure I was there and not a dream.

Intense is the only word to describe it.  Everything was loaded between us since we first locked eyes when I went searching for a bathroom at that house party.

After a moment he gave a sheepish smile then popped the trunk so we could get our gear back to our apartments. Will carried basically everything, save my pool bag, and my Mom already offered to handle washing our new baby clothes and linens so it made for a quick trip upstairs.

"So, tomorrow I work... Do you have plans for the week?"  Will yawned and kept his voice soft while setting bags down in my apartment then stretching to his full height.

"Unpacking and I have a couple client projects to work on.  One is basically done but I have a Zoom meeting in the morning to discuss some tiny changes and the other I just accepted last week so I need to get more done."  I paused then shared, "Will?  I really didn't expect us to be here now... like... not just with Milo but in general."
