Logan's POV-

There I was, standing face to face with the person who I'd tried so hard to forget about. "Rory"

"Logan"

"I uh...I didn't know you were in Boston" I said. 'Really? I really couldn't have thought of something better to say?'

"Yeah, I just moved here about a month ago" she told me. I hadn't seen her in 8 years, and I honestly never expected to see her again. Or maybe I was hoping I wouldn't because if I'm being honest, I never fully got over her.

Before either of us could say anything else, Belle tugged on my arm. "Daddy, let's go"

"I should probably..." I gestured between Belle and the playground that was to my left.

"Yeah"

"Who's that?" Belle asked me as we walked back over to where Abigail was sitting with Josie near the playground. Since it was a nice day and the kids were going from Abigail's house to mine, we decided to meet up at the park.

"Somebody I knew a really long time ago"

Later that evening I was in my house, putting the girls to bed. The usual routine was dinner, bath, pajamas, and book. Usually both of them laid in Belle's bed while I read them whatever book they chose that night, and by the end of the story they would both be asleep and then I would move Josie to her crib.

Once the girls were asleep, I went downstairs to do some research. After seeing Rory in the park, I couldn't stop thinking about her. I wanted to know what brought her to Boston. It didn't take long for me to learn that she'd just been made editor in chief of the Boston Globe. I also found her Facebook page, which was pretty much exactly what you'd expect from Rory, although I didn't see anything to indicate that she was married, or even in a relationship, which made me happier than I thought it would. It meant that  I had a chance.

On Tuesday night the following week, my kids were with Abigail so I decided to try my luck and went to the Boston globe building. I imagine she wasn't expecting to walk out of work to see me leaning against her car.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I came to see you" I told her

"Ok..." she said. It was subtle, but I definitely saw her smile a little. "Why?"

Rory's POV-

"Because my children are with their mother, and I don't really like being in my house when they're not there.

"Oh..." I had heard a few years before that Logan was getting married, but since then I hadn't heard anything about him. I didn't know he was divorced and until a ran into him at the park, I didn't know he had kids.

"So, I was hoping that maybe you'd let me but you a cup of coffee"

I did want to go have coffee with him, but I wasn't sure if he meant it as a date, and I'd just broken up with Nick less than 2 weeks before. 'It's just coffee, right? Nothing's gonna happen if I just go for coffee with an old friend'. "You know what, that'd be nice"

We walked to a coffee shop that was about a block away.

"Hey, how'd you know which car is mine?" I asked him as we walked.

"I took a guess on the only car with Connecticut plates"

"Oh yeah"
