Logan's POV-

One Tuesday morning in October I was in my house, getting the girls ready for school. In an effort to save time I was brushing Belle's hair while she ate breakfast.

"Daddy, you're pulling"

"I'm sorry" I said. I always tried to be as gentle as possible when I brushed her hair, but she'd still say that I was pulling her hair.

"Daddy, my elephant" Josie said. It sounded more like 'ewfin', but I knew that she meant her little elephant blanket.

"Your blanket's in the living room" I told her

"Daddy, you're hurting my head" Belle said

"I'm sorry" I said. I couldn't possibly be more gentle, but it was still hurting her and I felt bad. "Ok, I'm done" I told her. I put a headband on her head to keep her hair out of her face.

"Who's picking us up today?" Belle asked

"I am"

After dropping the girls off at school, I meet up with Rory's for breakfast before work.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" I asked

"Sure" Rory said

"How do you brush your hair?"

Rory was visibly confused by the question. "Um...with a brush. Why?"

"Because I keep hitting my kid when I try to brush her hair"

"What do you put on it?" She asked

"What do you mean?"

"Her hair is curly, isn't it?" Rory asked. She'd never met the girls but she'd seen pictures.

"Yeah, kind of. Why?"

"Curly hair tangles easily, and it's harder to brush. Spray something on her hair before you brush it, it'll help"

"So just put water on her hair and problem solved?" I asked. It made sense. I didn't know how I didn't think of that on my own since her hair was a thousand times easier to brush after she had a bath and it was wet.

"Water, or if that's not enough you can also get a spray bottle and put like a tablespoon of conditioner in it and fill the rest with water"

"Thank you"

"Let me know how it works"

Rory's POV-

One Friday night in November I was sitting in my grandparents dining room, listening to my grandmother talk about another one of her friends grandkids who just got married. I hated when she did that. It was passive aggressive and annoying. My grandparents didn't know that I was seeing Logan, and I wasn't so ready to tell them either. They saw the Huntzberger's regularly, which meant they probably knew that Logan had been married, and divorced, and that he had kids. I wasn't sure what exactly they knew about him because they hadn't mentioned him to me at all since my comments graduation. I didn't want them asking a bunch of questions about our relationship or his kids that I couldn't answer. At one point my mom tried to change the subject, but that just turned my grandmother's attention towards me.

"You know, Rory, I have a friend who's grandson is about your age, and I think he's single. I could give him your number if you'd like"

"No, it's ok" I said

"Rory, you need to date"

"Who said I don't date?" I asked. Just because I didn't talk about my love life with my grandparents doesn't mean it didn't exist. I think the last I'd mentioned anything on the topic was a little over 4 months before, when Nick and I split.
