July 1921
Three year old Steve Rogers sat watching his mother hold a bundle. He was told it's his baby sister. He didn't know what to do with a sister.
1929
Sarah Rogers covered her ears as her father yelled and threw things at her and Steve. He was angry because Mama wouldn't give him money for his special drinks.
1934
Steve and Sarah watched as their father's body was taken away. They knew he was dead. Sarah was slightly relieved, but she didn't know her nightmare wasn't over yet.
Spring 1940
Steve growled and threw a glass.
"Steve!" Sarah admonished quietly. "That is Mama's wedding set."
"Oh shut up! She's at the hospital dying!"
Sarah shook her head and started to clean up.
Before Steve could berate her more for things out of her control, a knock on the door stopped him.
Steve got up, kicking some glass towards Sarah. He opened the door and raised a brow slightly, seeing Bucky with flowers.
"My mom isn't here."
"I'm here to take Sarah to the fair." Bucky replied. He thought Sarah had told Steve.
"She didn't tell me her date was with you." Steve replied, feeling angry that once again, Sarah was taking something from him.
Sarah came in from the kitchen and smiled, seeing Bucky. "You're early. I'm making supper."
Bucky smiled some and handed her the flowers. "That's okay. I can visit Steve, and we can go after."
Sarah smiled more, taking the little bunch of wildflowers. She kissed Bucky's cheek before walking towards the kitchen.
Steve clenched a fist as he closed the door, letting Bucky in. He would be talking to Sarah about this later.
Fall 1942
Bucky followed after Steve to his apartment. Bucky knew that the death of their mother was hard on the Rogers siblings. He watched as Steve looked for his key before getting it from the flower pot next to the door.
"Steve, you know you and Sarah are welcome to come to my place."
"We're fine." Steve replied.
Bucky nodded some and put his hand on Steve's shoulder. "I'm with you til the end of the Line Steve."
Steve nodded and watched Bucky leave before going inside. He instantly got angry seeing that the house wasn't spotless.
"Damn it, Sarah!"
June 1943
Steve watched as Sarah married his best friend. Bucky said he wanted to be married before shipping off. He shook his head. Sarah was able to stay. He still isn't sure how she pulled that off, and now Bucky is marrying his sister before shipping off to Europe.
He hated this more than anything.
