—ParkCo. Lunch Room— Wednesday, August 28th, XX35, 12:30 PM, the next day
[Jihyo's POV]

(It's break time, Ms. Myoui should be getting here soon..)

"Ms. Park?"

At the perfect time, Jihyo turns toward the direction of the voice. "Oh, hello Ms. Myoui. Are you on break now?"

"Hello and yes, I am. It's my lunch break right now."

"Would you care to keep me company for a while then?" Jihyo gestures to the empty chair in front of her.

"Oh? Would that be okay?" Mina asked hesitantly.

"Of course. Take a seat, Ms. Myoui."

Mina does as she's told, and takes a seat across from Jihyo.

"I think this may be the first time I've sat down with you, outside of conferences", Jihyo says.

Mina sets her lunch bag on the table. "Hm, you're probably right. It's reasonable though, considering we know each other through business means."

There's a moment of silence between them, as Mina takes out her lunch and Jihyo thinks of topics which might make Mina open up to her. Thankfully, Mina herself had taken the initiative to start the conversation.

"I've never seen you in the lunch room before, Ms. Park. What's the occasion?"

"Hm, perhaps I felt like socializing. It was good timing for you to bump into me here," Jihyo chuckles.

They continue talking and Jihyo subtly attempts multiple times, to change the topic to something personal yet not too serious.

Jihyo was frustrated. Mina had been extremely unmoving and did not reveal any compelling information about herself, despite Jihyo's best efforts.

"It's about time I head back to my office."

"Oh, so soon?" Mina smiled.

"Yes. It was nice to talk with you Ms. Myoui. Keep up the good work."

As she stood up to leave, Jihyo thought she'd finish with an actual work-related question so she could have gained some usefulness from this conversation.

"Oh right, Ms. Myoui. Have you made much progress with Ms. Chou?"

"Huh? W-What do you mean by that.?"

Hm? Why does Ms. Myoui seem guarded after that question? Jihyo wonders.

"Your tutoring of Ms. Chou..? Have you been providing her with enough mentorship to stay up to par with her coworkers?"

Mina takes a deep breath and reverts to her former, calmer self. "I apologize, I didn't understand your question at first. Yes, Ms. Chou has improved greatly and is effectively keeping up with her fellow workers."
