—Park Co. Department E.— Tuesday, November 9th, XX35, 8:00 PM, two months later
[Jihyo's POV]Jihyo steps out of the elevator, her heels clicking softly on the office floors. She makes her way through the busy workspace, receiving nods and smiles from Sana's coworkers as she makes her way to Department E.
"Hello Ms. Park," Tzuyu politely bows. "Looking for Sana?"
Jihyo smiles, used to the teasing by now. "Yeah. Do you know where she might be?"
Chaeyoung pops up from behind her desk. "She's probably in the bathroom."
"Thank you, Ms. Son. I'll wait for her here, then." With some time to spare, Jihyo decides to make some small talk. "You're here pretty late, waiting for Ms. Myoui?"
"Yeah," Chaeyoung says. "We have some business at home, so I'm just waiting for her to finish up."
Tzuyu whispers to Jihyo. "It means they're going on a date," she smiles.
"Ah, I see."
Chaeyoung blushes. "I heard that, Tzuyu! Don't just tell random people."
"Sorry, sorry," she dismisses.
"Jihyo!" Sana hugs her from behind, kissing her on the side of her face.
"Sana, I didn't hear you come up behind me," she smiles.
"That's because I was trying to sneak up on you," Sana giggles.
Jihyo slips her hand into Sana's, letting go of their hug. "We'll be going now, Ms. Chou, Ms. Son. Please get home safely."
"See you two tomorrow," Sana waves.
Tzuyu and Chaeyoung smile with a small bow, waving goodbye.
As they walk towards the elevator, they bump into Mina leaving her office.
"Hello Ms. Park, Ms. Minatozaki," she greets.
"Hi," Sans nods respectfully.
"Hello," Jihyo says. "Have fun on your date."
They step into the elevator and wave goodbye, as Mina embarrassingly dismisses herself with a slight blush on her face.
Inside, they stood close, Jihyo's arm casually draped over Sana's shoulders. Now that the weather was cooler, Jihyo and Sana snuggled against each other for warmth. Sana leaned into her, sighing contentedly as the elevator descended.
By the time they reached Jihyo's car, Nayeon and Jeongyeon were already waiting, sitting in the backseat and bickering as usual.
"Are you two ever not arguing?" Jihyo teases as she climbs into the driver's seat.
Jeongyeon rolled her eyes, leaning back. "It's called a debate, not an argument."
Nayeon shot her a playful glare. "Sure, call it whatever makes you feel better."
"Alright alright, I'm sorry," Jeongyeon responds, before leaning over and kissing Nayeon on the cheek. Nayeon blushes furiously, slapping her arm lightly. "You're such a cheeky brat," she mutters, but there was no real anger behind her words.
"Is this really how you spend your honeymoon phase? I thought couples were supposed to be extra sweet to each other."
"Not everyone acts as disgustingly cute as you two do," Nayeon teases.
"What, you don't want me to kiss you in front of them?" Jeongyeon pouts.
"Well... that's not what I meant," Nayeon says.
Jihyo starts the car, grabbing Sana's hand in the passenger seat. "Okay, settle down you two, or we'll be late for dinner."
. . .
They arrive at the restaurant and are walked over to their table by a server. As the group takes their seat, they spot Momo and Dahyun at the table beside them, laughing about something quietly.
Momo spots them, her cheeks turning a deep shade of pink.
"Hey, I didn't know you two would be here," Jihyo grins as she slides into her seat beside Sana.
"By the way, happy birthday Momo!" Jeongyeon says.
The group collectively wish Momo a happy birthday, but Sana can't help but point out something about the situation.
"Hey, I invited you out to have dinner with us today to celebrate your birthday. Is this what you meant when you said you already had plans?"
The group gives Dahyun and Momo a suspicious look, teasing them about the sudden development.
"I had no idea you two were..." Jihyo says, before being interrupted by Momo.
"Nothing is going on here!"
Suddenly, Dahyun whispers something into Momo's ears, causing her to cover her face.
"What did you whisper?" Nayeon asks.
Dahyun shrugs innocently, though the mischievous glint in her eyes gives her away. "I just told her that she's cute when she's blushing."
The group burst into laughter, Momo's face still buried in her hands. "You're the worst," she mumbles, though a small smile tugs at her lips.
The two groups eventually merge together as the teasing continues, a sense of closeness and warmth between them all. It felt very comforting, almost like they were all a family. The laughter and the quiet understanding of what they'd been through together brought a sense of peace to the group.
Jihyo glances at Sana, who was laughing at something Jeongyeon had said. She reaches out, gently squeezing her hand under the table. Sana looked at her, their eyes meeting in a silent exchange of affection. Neither of them needed to say anything; the love between them was clear.
And for Jihyo, in that moment, everything felt right.
