MIKAYLA SIGHED AS SHE MADE HER WAY OVER TOWARDS THE FRONT PORCH, the fresh breeze hitting her olived skin, the hot Georgia sun beating down on her. She had seemed to forget that the group was holding a hostage in the barn, she didn't want to be reminded — the fact the group had questioned whether or not killing him was better than letting him go. It made her wonder where everyone's humanity went.

Sure, the world went to shit but that shouldn't be the reason their humanity had left with it. It was a person's life in their hands, he was someone's son.

Shielding the sun from her eyes, she glanced around the camp. Four had gone with Rick and Shane, taking Randall eighteen miles away from here. It worried her, she knew Four could take care of himself but the thought of him with Shane didn't sit right with her.

Daryl was right, Shane had changed dramatically over the few months they've been together, not in a good way though. The man that had told her stories from being on the field, helping her with her survival skills wasn't the man that stood in front of her now. Mikayla was thankful that Shane had gone to the school to get the supplies that saved her life, what she wasn't thankful for was Shane sacrificing Otis' life to bring them back.

How could she be so blindsided. Shane had her fooled. He had all of them fooled. Andrea more than anyone...

Mikayla knew that if she had to follow anymore blind it would be Rick. No questions asked, she had trusted him with her life. She was thankful for him, he saved Glenn and he also saved hers.

"Mikayla?" Maggie's voice broke her out the raven haired girl out of her trance, turning to face her, "could I ask you a favour?" She asked.

Mikayla nodded, "sure, what is it?"

Maggie sighed, rubbing her shoulders nervously, "could, could you check on Beth for me?" She questioned, "she's not talking to Lori or Brooke."

"I don't know, Maggie," Mikayla muttered, her eyes searching the older Greene's face, "I don't know her, she doesn't know me. She won't open up to me."

"I opened up to you," she reassured, "so did Brooke. I-I just need you to try, please."

The frown on Mikayla's face was present, she let out a sigh of defeat and slowly nodded, "what do I even say to her?" She questioned, her eyebrows knitted in confusion.
