Jackie and Daoming Si sat in silence as they waited for a waiter to help them.
Neither of them having the guts to speak.
The two sat in silence before Emilia came up to them with a smile.
"Jackie my dear girl! What bring you here?" Emilia asked as Jackie smiled softly at the older woman.
"I'm just here to have lunch with my...friend..." Jackie said awkwardly, not knowing what to call the male across from her.
Emilia looked to Daoming Si for a moment, the latter feeling nervous, before she gave a brief nod and turned to Jackie.
"O çok tatlı, tatlım! Erkek arkadaşını iyi seçmişsin!" Emilia said in Turkish as Jackie blushed and Daoming Si, not knowing the language, wondered what they were talking about.
"O benim erkek arkadaşım değil! O sadece bir arkadaş..." Jackie said blushing as Emilia gave the younger woman a look.
"Tabii ya! Ve ben hiç ot içmedim." Emilia said as Jackie's mouth dropped open I shock, Emilia laughing before turning to a confused Daoming Si.
"What can I get for you hun?" Emilia asked with a gentle smile as Daoming Si spoke.
"Can I get the bacon sandwich with salad?" Daoming Si said with a smile as Emilia nodded, writing it down on her notepad before turning to Jackie.
"Your usual hon?" Emilia asked as Jackie nodded.
"Alright I'll get these orders in for you kids!" Emilia said as she took there menu's and walked away, Daoming Si turning to Jackie.
"So...what did she say earlier? I couldn't understand the language." Daoming Si said as Jackie's eyes widened.
"Oh! She...umm...she was just telling me thank you! For working in her cafe!" Jackie said nervously as Daoming Si nodded and the two sat in silence once more.
Soon Emilia came with there plates, setting them down with a smile before walking away, giving Jackie a knowing wink as the girl blushed.
The two ate in silence for a few moments before Jackie spoke.
"So...you and Shancai?" Jackie asked as Daoming Si swallowed his soup and sighed.
"Yeah...we're not together...she chose Lei..." Ah Si said as Jackie frowned and gave the boy a sympathetic look.
"I'm sorry. If it helps it just means there's someone better for you!" Jackie said trying to cheer him up as Ah Si let out a laugh and smiled.
"Thanks...there's someone better out there for you too." Ah Si said as Jackie smiled, the tension and awkwardness now gone.
The two ate their meals quickly and stayed at the cafe talking before Jackie noticed the time.
"It's getting late. I should head home. I have a class online tomorrow at 6:00 AM." Jackie said as she set down 30 dollars on the table and stood, Daoming Si doing the same.
"May I walk you home?" Daoming Si asked as Jackie smiled.
"Sure!" Jackie said as the two walked to her apartment.
The walk to her apartment was quiet but comfortable, and oddly comforting.
As they reached her apartment building Jackie turned to Ah Si.
"Thanks for walking me. It was nice to see you." Jackie said as Daoming Si smiled.
"You too. Oh! Here's my number so we can hang out again. This was fun." Ah Si said as he handed Jackie a paper with his number, Jackie smiling down at it before hugging the male who hugged her back.
The hug lingered for a few moments before the two broke apart, Ah Si walking away and Jackie walking inside.
Both with smiles on their faces in comfort and content.
