. VICTORIA MCCOY .

I entered through the door of the hospitals room, the sight of my mother sleeping soundlessly in her bed had eased my worries by the tiniest bit "Vic." My brothers eyes snapped toward me as he slowly stood up from his seat by the bed, we both slowly walked toward each other "the doctors say she has to stay in the hospital for a while, they haven't exactly figured out what's going on with her." Isaacs voice laced with worry.

The feeling of my heart dropping had sent waves of distress rippling through my body, I wasn't sure what was going on fully but I was hoping it wasn't severe, my mother and father used to fight a lot but that didn't stop the love they held for each other.

"How long has she been asleep for?" I slowly inch toward my mothers bed, my gaze softened as I took in the fragile look she now held, she looked pale, weak and tired. She was doing perfectly fine yesterday so what happened? "Maybe an hour or two?" Isaac settled back into the chair beside the bed with his arms crossing over his chest "she seems to be doing fine right now, you seemed panicked on the phone what happened?" Recalling the moment of panic that had laced itself into his voice on the phone is what worried me the most because even if Isaac is a worry wot I doubt he'd call me for something small.

Isaac sucked in a deep breath as his gaze dropped to mums face he now held a sadness behind his eyes "before I called you mums heart beat was slowing and she almost flat lined, the doctors rushed in and started to work on her, stabilising her but they said she might pass at any time." He spoke in a quick tone almost as if he had hesitated to say anything "you didn't think to tell me sooner?" I felt my brows knit together at the new found information that Isaac just gave me "I was going to but I didn't want you to stress".

Isaac had been acting off ever since he called me, this entire night has been weird. Jasper accusing Diablo of creeping around his house, Diablo had also been acting weird too because normally he'd ask before doing anything along the lines of intimacy but tonight it's almost as if he was just trying to go for it and now my mother ending up in hospital. Was I carrying some sort of bad luck charm or something?

The room fell silent as I just stared at Isaac unsure of what to say next, the starry night sky sat just outside the window and the gentle glow of the moon lightly illuminated the darker parts of the city outside. The quiet beeping noise from the heart monitor that was connected to my mum had played as a background noise "alright but I'd like for you to tell me these things head on." I spoke up the silence breaking for a brief moment before it grew silent again after my brothers nod in agreement.

A warmth had enveloped my hand making me quickly look down at my mother now finding her holding my hand, a tired smile danced over her lips as she laid staring up at me. The exhausted look that humbled itself behind her eyes had pulled at my heart strings "hey darling" her quiet voice sounded louder than it originally was "hey ma" a smile tugged at the corners of my lips.

"I saw your father in my dream, he's still as handsome as the day I met him" my mum spoke with so much love it was as if she had just fallen out then all the way back in love with him "yeah?" A small huffed laugh escaped my lips as I turned my body to face her now allowing her to hold my hand a less awkward position, she nodded and her smile only grew bigger "did he say anything?" I enjoyed hearing my mother talk about her love with my father even if when he was alive they hadn't shown it in the most beautiful way.

Mum had nodded her head "he was just checking in, asking how everyone was and reminding me that he still loves me" her voice grew quiet as the hoarse affect had broke her voice mid sentence "that's great ma, I'm glad he came back to check in on you" a smile had flickered over the corners of my lips, my mother is a strong woman but then again every strong woman or man has their weakness and for her.
