Rex looked at the bodies of all the fallen that died trying to capture the air base. Error and Furn stood beside him.

"Val taabir bat sa vi partaylir," Error said,

Rex nodded, "We better check in with Krell, and see if he's gotten a hold of General Kenobi yet,"

Error led them to a building, in the command center, Elmar stood beside Krell, a new bruise on his cheek.

Rex kept his composure,

"Ah, Captains, do you need something?" Krell asked with venom in his words,

"Have you gotten in contact with General Kenobi yet sir?" Rex asked,

"Yes," Krell said, "We are to hold here," 

Rex nodded before turning to leave, 

"CT-7576," Krell said, 

Rex turned back to Krell, 

"Keep the clones here, no one leaves without my orders to say so," Krell said,

Rex nodded and left, finding Dogma outside,

"Captain!" Dogma said, "I need to speak with the general!"

"About?" Rex inquired

"Fives, Hardcase, and Echo, they... they want to fly some of the Umbaran's ships to blow up the other air base," Dogma said,

Rex sighed, "Take me to them trooper,"

Dogma nodded and led Rex to a hanger bay, with three Umbaran ships.

"FIVES! HARDCASE! ECHO!" Rex roared as soon as he entered the hanger,

"Captain!" Fives said, "Fancy seeing you here!"

"What do you three think you're doing!" Rex shouted, anger making his eyes flash dangerously, 

"We, umm, just wanted to help," Hardcase replied, shrinking in on himself,

"ARE YOU TRYING TO GET YOURSELVED KILLED!" Rex yelled, 

The three of them flinched, "Sorry Captain,"

Rex sighed, "Head to the barracks, get some sleep," He turned to Dogma, "Not a word of this, not while we're heading into combat soon, we need all our troops,"

Dogma nodded, "Alright sir,"

Rex watched his troops leave, 

"That was brave of you Rex'ika," Sonic said, walking up from behind,

"Did... did I do the right thing?" Rex asked, "By yelling at them like that?"

Sonic nodded, "You're doing this to protect them from Krell, since we all know what he's done to the Shadows,"

Rex sighed, "You're right,"

Sonic laughed, "I'm always right little brother,"

Rex smiled, then faltered, "You know the Padawan?"

Sonic nodded, "What about him?"

"His name is Elmar and," Rex blushed, "I... have a crush on him,"

Sonic smiled, "Better him than Skywalker, Error, and Furn speak highly of him,"

Rex sighed, "I think Krell's abusing him like he is Error and Furn,"

Sonic's eyes flashed, "Great, just wonderful, now we have more people to protect,"

Rex laughed, "You, are one protective man,"

Sonic smiled, "Anything for my little brothers,"

Rex smiled.

Hours later Rex awoke to a scream, a scream of pain that echoed on the walls of the buildings.

Rex ran outside of the barracks, Sonic on his heels. He could sense it too, someone close to them was in pain. They found Error and Furn both knocked out, lying on the floor of the command center.

Rex knelt next to Error, "Wake up, please,"

Error jerked awake, "'ex? Where's?" She looked beside her only to find Furn, "Commander Woods! Rex, you have to find the Commander! He could be in danger!"

"Calm down," Sonic said, "Help is on its way,"

Kix ran up to them, "What happened,"

"Rex, please," Error begged, "You have to find him. If Krell... I would never forgive myself,"

Rex nodded, "Sonic stay with them, I'm going to find the Commander,"

"Rex!" Sonic tried to argue,

"No," Rex snapped back, "I'm faster on my own, I'm leaving you in charge until Error and Furn are better,"

Rex then ran out of the command center, 

"Captain!" Five stopped Rex, "Let us-"

"No," Rex snapped, "If anything happens I want you all here," Rex then took off into the nearby forest, following Elmar's sent, he needed to go faster, so with some difficulty, he morphed into a large blue panther, a form he hadn't taken in years, not since Geonosis. He leaped from tree to tree, rock to rock, and even ran on the ground, until he found Elmar, bleeding badly, while cornered by Krell.

Rex growled and Krell turned, 

"A cat? What is a cat doing here?" Krell mused, "No matter, you'll die like this padawan,"

Rex barely dogged the swing of the lightsaber, he leaped up and slashed Krell's arm, trying to get him away from Elmar, Elmar needed to live.

Elmar groaned in pain

Rex growled at Krell in warning,

"Stupid cat!"Krell returned the growl, just then a blaster bolt shot by Rex's head, Rex crouched low to the ground and growled,

"Master Krell, are you alright?" That voice belonged to General Skywalked, in fear Rex's ears flicked back, he stood in front of Elmar protectively, 

"Knight Skywalker! You made it just in time, this cat has harmed my padawan!" Krell replied, with fake worry, 

"We're here to help sir!" Furn said, dropping into the clearing,

Rex looked at Furn with worry in his eyes as General Skywalker walked forward.

"Wow... I thought animals didn't live on Umbaran," Skywalker said,

Furn stepped towards Rex, "Hey, may I look at Elmar?"

Rex nodded, letting Furn get closer, Rex sat beside his crush as Furn checked for a pulse,

"He's alive, but barely," Furn said, Rex licked Elmar's hand in worry, "He should be fine, you should head back to your pack,"

"MC! Get away from that monster!" Krell snarled,

Rex's ears went flat against his head, his tail was tucked closer to his body as he meowed in fear.

"General!" Error said, running up to them, "Still no sign of Skywalker's Captain, we've looked everywhere,"

General Skywalker looked worried, "What happened?"

"I asked him to find the commander since he was missing," Error said, "He missed his check-in and now we can't find him," She then made eye contact with Rex and gasped, "A panther!"

Rex gave her a grin and purred with pride at the face he'd morphed and Error had seen it again.

"A what?" General Skywalker asked,

"A panther, a large cat if you will." Error walked forward and sat in front of Rex, who meowed at her, "Normally they don't attack Jedi or Clones unless they feel threatened,"

Rex butted his head against Error affectionately, purring.

Error laughed, and ran a hand against Rex's blue fur, "Good to see you as well Kebiin Solus,"
