I do not own anything.
(You are in your fourth year, making you fourteen)
I stood in the stands as I watched Dumbledore give the four champions a final speech before they started the maze. The horn blew for the first two to go in and Fleur and Krum entered, leaving Harry and my brother Cedric to wait for a few minutes. As the maze opened up again, Cedric turned around and gave me one last wave before the the leaves closed behind him. I leaned into my father.
"He'll be alright, won't he Da?" I asked. My dad squeezed me against him.
"It's Cedric my dear! Of course he will be."
Time went by and both Fleur and Krum had been taken out of the race. Now all that was left was the two Hogwarts champions. All my fellow students began to cheer as they realized that Hogwarts was going to win the Tri-Wizard's tournament. A great flash of blue erupted from the center of the maze and soon everyone was cheering as that was the sign that someone had touched the port key.
Five minutes passed. Then thirty. Then an hour. Neither Cedric nor Harry had showed up yet. Everyone began to whisper as they grew anxious. All the parents and staff had gathered in the small clearing and began to figure out what had happened.
I was growing more and more nervous by the second. My older brother had yet to come back and I couldn't lose him. I didn't need to wait any longer though as another flash occurred and the red and yellow jerseys were viable for a second before the adults surrounded them.
"There they are! Harry Potter and my boy... Oh god. My boy! Oh my dear boy no!!" I looked up from my book at my dad's cries and I couldn't believe what I saw.
In the middle of the clearing was my brother, staring at the sky with empty eyes, limp in my dad's arms. I let out a strangled cry and ran out of the bleachers towards my family.
"Ced?! Cedric! NO! CEDRIC!!!" I screamed and bawled into my brother's chest. I longed to here the beating of his heart, to feel his familiar warmth. Instead there was nothing. I kept crying out his name, hoping this was some sort of cruel joke and that somewhere my brother was actually alive and not dead in my arms.
I looked up at the sound of another person crying. My eyes met with Harry's and all I felt towards him was anger. I stood up and began stalking towards him. I jabbed my finger into his chest.
"You! This is your fault! You were the only one with him! You killed him! YOU KILLED MY BROTHER!!!" I screamed in rage and tried to hit him but people held me back. I screamed and cried and tried my hardest to break free but more people kept coming to hold me back.
"This is all your fault Harry Potter! I hate you! I hate you so much!" I finally just gave up and they set me down next to my brother and dad. I just sat there and cried for hours on end, mourning my brother, even after everyone had left. I sat there for hours, the image of Cedric's vacant stare forever in my mind.
*7YearsLater*
I stood at my brother's grave with a bundle of flowers. I stared at the words engraved in the headstones.
Cedric Diggory
Brother, Son, Champion
October 7, 1977 - June 24, 1994"I miss you brother," I whispered. A hand slipped into my own gloves one.
"Are you ready to go love?" my husband asked. I looked up at Harry's face and nodded. He smiled and pulled out his wand, creating a bouquet of flowers to appear on Cedric's grave. We looked at it one last time before turning away and walking home.
Not my best. Sorry.😁
