Robert remained silent for the next few minutes.
Robert
I don't think waiting for their call or waiting for their return is gonna do any good for both us and her. So it's better to give her medication asap.
Tony
I guess that's right. But its gonna be hard too, because I'm sure Hailey is not gonna be happy about this.
Robert
(cold)
I guess in this case, we are going to deal according to the guardian's concern, and to her, you are the guardian. I guess, it's solved.
Tony
Only me? Are you not her guardian too?
Robert
I don't think she is gonna co-operate if it's you who is going to check her up.
Tony
Yeah. I'm sure of that. I know she likes me. But she might take it as an advantage too.
Robert
You go upstairs first. I'll come there with the necessary stuffs.
Tony
Okay. But I want you to be less scary when you treat her.
Robert didn't say anything, rather left the place before Tony. Tony sighed and started going upstairs.
Tony knocked the door twice just like before. And there was no response. So he decided to go in. He saw Hailey sleeping tiredly. He shook her up, letting her know that she is gonna get a check up. That too from Robert. That was enough to increase the fear in Hailey's mind. She forgot to breathe.
Tony
Hailey sweetie, I need you to take deep breaths. Can you do that, sweetie?
Hailey
I-i-i (struggling to breathe) I---
Tony
Shhh ... No need to talk sweetheart. Just take a deep breath for me.. can you do that?
Tony became very concerned seeing her condition getting worse. He sat on the bed. He immediately scooped Hailey to his lap, letting her head snuggle into his neck, whilst he consoled her. He rubbed her back, encouraging her to take deep breaths. He felt her slowly coming back to sense, and taking good enough air into her lungs.
But, Tony didn't move from that position. He kept on rubbing her back consoling her now and then with his sweet talk. Meanwhile, Hailey got comfortable in his hug and hugged him back with her hand and legs around his waist.
When Robert entered the room, he was shocked to see them in this position, but Tony kept his finger on his lips, indicating him not to bother ask what's going on.
Tony
Sweetpie, Robert is here dear...
Hailey started crying and shook her head vigorously. She started to try to get out of his grip, finding that they are not gonna leave her without the checkup.
Robert was shocked at first, but soon understood the situation and came forward in front of them.
Tony
Hailey honey... It's just a normal check up dear. Please allow him to check. Do you think I'm gonna be happy letting you dwell in here with your sickness? Do you believe me, sweetheart? Do you think that I'll allow anyone to hurt you? Please dear... Just a check up.. that too from your soon-to-be brother. You can trust him fully dear. I promise....
After lots and lots of sweet words from Tony, Hailey slowly nodded her head.
Robert took a stool and sat in front of them. He took out his Stethoscope and rubbed the head of it in his palm, to make it warm. He then asked Tony to lift her shirt, to which Hailey whined. She was still in the same hugging position, so Robert kept the stethoscope in her back, and asked her to take deep breathe.
He then checked her temperature, but it didn't give the correct reading. He saw Tony, and Tony sighed in return.

Hailey Sweetie....

M-mmm...
Tony
You trust us, right?
Hailey
Y-yes?!...
Tony
We couldn't get the correct reading sweetie... We need to take rectal temperature honey!!!!
