Louis and I had only been dating about three days and everyone knew. We got looks, some of envy toward me, some of happiness for us, but mostly hate toward me. Every girl in school wanted Louis to at least notice them, and they always got jealous when I was seen with him. The most we did at school was hold hands, and he would occasionally kiss my cheek.

"You guys are so cute!" Jesse said to us one day at lunch. He swooned like a girl, and laughed at himself. I would roll my eyes, and Louis would give him a soft punch in the arm.

"Hey Louis, wanna come over and have a little fun?" We both turned and saw Eve, evil grin and all.

"Sorry, but I have a girlfriend," Louis said, putting his arm around my waist. She only cackled in response.

"Really? Where is she? I don't see anyone around here," she pretended to look around as she said this.

"She's right in front of you," Louis growled, "maybe you need glasses." He turned us, and walked away. I wasn't surprised at her little stunt, but it still hurt.

"It's alright love, she only does it to get a reaction out of you. Don't listen to her, she doesn't know you like I do. She sees an easy target, I see a beautiful, insecure girl with a great personality." Louis was so sweet to me, but her harsh words stuck to my skin like tattoos. She really knew how to get to me, she did it so easily, and she scared me. She was the most popular girl in school, and whatever she says goes. When she doesn't like someone, no one goes near that person. Louis, Jesse, Carter, Kyle, and Danny didn't care that in her eyes, I was the mayor of Loserville. They saw me for me, not for someone's stupid opinion.

I was glad I had them, because without them, I wouldn't be anyone. I would have no friends, and I would have no one to lean on but my parents. They're all I have. When school finally ended, we all went to the park and played tag for a while. We were having a great time, until Jesse went to his place and got water balloons. I was running from Carter, he was it, when I got hit by the balloon. I looked over to see that Jesse had loads of them in his arms. I ducked down behind a boulder, and was soon joined by Louis and Kyle. Carter and Danny had a lot of the balloons as well.

"Hey, look over there!" Louis whisper shouted. I looked at where he was pointing, and saw the sprinkler system. I nodded, and looked up. They were nowhere to be seen. I got up quickly, and sprinted to the control board. I switched it on, and the sprinklers started. I heard squeals of surprise, and laughter. Louis and Kyle were cracking up, as Jesse, Danny, and Carter ran out of their spots to get away from the sprinklers. I was laughing so hard, I didn't even notice when Carter threw me on his shoulder, and ran toward the sprinklers. He ran in front of the streams of water, getting us both soaked.

"Carter! Let me down!" I said between laughs. He set me down and just laughed when I punched his arm.

"Let's go piggyback through the sprinklers!" Jesse shouted, jumping on Kyle's back.

"We'll race you to the other side!" Louis challenged. He walked over and squatted down so that I could get on his back. Danny got on Carter's back, and we all lined up at the end of the field.

"On your mark, get set, GO!" Louis took off running down the field, past Danny and Carter. Jesse and Kyle were in the lead. WE almost caught up, but they made it first.

"We won!" Jesse hollered. They high fived and jumped around. Louis let me off his back and sat down in the wet grass. We were all soaking wet from the sprinklers.

"We should do stuff like this more often," Kyle said, sitting on my other side. I sat down close to Louis, and rested my head on his shoulder. Soon we were all seated in the wet grass, laughing and joking about how childish we were. When we had somewhat dried, we said goodbye and went home.

"My mum's gonna be pissed," Louis chuckled. I thought about how she would react when she saw her son walk into the house, soaking wet. When we got to my street, we stopped a minute.

"I'll see you tomorrow love," he said. He hugged me, making my drying clothes a little wetter, and planted a small kiss on my lips. When I got home, my mum laughed and asked what I'd done to get so wet, then demanded I take a hot shower. When I had put on some pajama shorts and a t-shirt, I opened my window and heard Louis' mum yelling at him for coming into the house all wet. I chuckled, imagining his grin as she scolded him for being such a childish young man. I fell asleep with a small smile on my face, today was perfect.
