Chapter 2 - Day at the Park

Nashi's POV

"Kids! Breakfast is ready!" I heard Mum call out to us. Igneel and I rushed out of our room and sat at the table. In Igneel's arms was his best friend and cat called 'Carlos'. Carlos is one of the kittens of Dad's cat Happy and Auntie Wendy's cat Carla. He looked like a smaller version of Happy except with a white left ear. "Are you ready to go to the park today?" Mum asked as she put plates of pancakes in front of me and Igneel. "Yes!" Igneel cheered before putting Carlos on the seat next to him.

As I was in the middle of eating my breakfast, Dad rushed out of the bedroom in his suit and a briefcase in his hand. "Sorry I can't stay for breakfast babe. There's an emergency at the office" Dad said as he walked over to the kitchen. He gave Mum a kiss on the lips and I quickly looked back at my breakfast. Ew, I would never kiss a boy on the lips. Yuck!

"Anything I need to worry about?" Mum asked and Dad chuckled. "No, you and the kids have fun at the park. The boys should be here soon" he said and then walked over to me and Igneel. "Both of you have fun" he said as he gave each of us a kiss on the forehead. "See you later Happy" he called out when he reached the front door to Happy who was lying on the couch. "Wait Natsu! Take this for the road" Mum called out while jogging over to give him an egg and bacon sandwich. "You're an angel" Dad smiled and gave Mum another kiss on the lips. I inwardly groaned.

Later, Uncle Gray, Uncle Gajeel, and Uncle Laxus picked the three of us up and drove us to Magnolia Southgate Park. They stood around the playground guarding us while Mum pushed Igneel on the swing and I played tag with Storm. Storm tapped my back, "tag you're it" he said and now it was my turn to chase him. As I was about to tag him, I noticed around fifty men in black suits coming towards us, surrounding us. Other people in the park recognised them as mafia and ran out of the park.

"Lucy, kids, get back!" Uncle Gray shouted. Uncle Gray, Uncle Gajeel, and Uncle Laxus backed closer to us as they pulled out their guns. "Mum?" I questioned as Storm and I ran towards her. She put Igneel, Storm and me behind her back. "Leo! Regulus!" Mum shouted and two ninjas, one gold and one silver, appeared behind us. Mum turned around and kneeled down in front of Igneel and me. She cupped one of our cheeks with each hand. "Nashi, Igneel, I love you both so much" she said and gave us a quick kiss on the forehead. "Take them back to Headquarters and inform Natsu" she ordered the ninjas while pushing the three of us towards them.

The gold ninja picked me and Igneel up while the silver ninja picked up Storm. "Mummy/Mum!" Igneel and I screamed, and Storm shouted "Dad!" before the ninjas pulled us away from the park. The last image I saw of Mum was her looking at us with a soft smile before turning around to face the men and pulling out her magic whip.

"After the kids!" we heard one of the men shout and a group of them chased after us. Igneel, Storm and I screamed when they began shooting at us while the ninjas jumped around. "Hold on tight kid" the silver ninja said as he moved Storm to hold onto his back. He turned around and returned fire with shuriken.

Soon we arrived at Dragneel Inc., Dad's business, and burst through the lobby. "We're under attack! We need reinforcements at the park!" the gold ninja shouted. A large number of Mum and Dad's friends rushed out. "Where's Mum?" Igneel cried and the gold ninja hugged him. "We'll get her back" he said. "Who are you?" I asked. It was obvious Mum knew them but I'd never seen them before. Both ninjas pulled down their face masks. "Uncle Loke? Uncle Luke? You're ninjas?" I asked as I recognised them. "Yeah" Loke sighed and then the elevator opened with a ding.

Dad rushed out and ran towards us when he saw us. He crouched down and pulled us into a hug. "I heard you were attacked. I'm so glad you're both safe" he said and then pulled back. He looked around and seemed disappointed. "Where's Lucy?" he asked. Loke sighed, he clearly knew Dad's upcoming reaction. "She ordered us to bring the kids here and inform you of the situation" he explained. Dad glared at him. "What?!" he shouted as he stood up. "Then what are you waiting for? Go protect her!" he ordered. Uncle Loke and Uncle Luke pulled up their face masks and disappeared.

"Will Mum be alright?" I hesitated to ask. I was scared to hear the worst-case scenario. "And Dad?" Storm added. Dad picked up Igneel and then patted both Storm's and my heads. "They're both strong. How about we wait downstairs for them and get a milkshake?" Dad said softly. Igneel nodded but I knew Dad was extremely worried about Mum. 'Please come back to us Mum' I prayed as we followed Dad downstairs to the bar.
